Last night was the start of our 10th Annual Pender Harbour Chamber Music Festival. I was hanging banners and putting up tents, setting out chairs and then tables for the reception after. But also just enjoying the wonderful music. I continue to be amazed that we are able to have such an amazing Festival in this tiny community. This is the first year I've been involved on the committee, and what a lot of work goes on behind the scenes. Sort of like old joke about swans.
Finishing up my fresh squeezed orange juice while I wait for my Peet's English Breakfast Blend to brew. |

![]() There's a woman being grabbed They've dragged her to the bushes And now she's being stabbed Maybe we should call the cops And try to stop the pain But Monopoly is so much fun I'd hate to blow the game And I'm sure It wouldn't interest anybody Outside of a small circle of friends ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ta_iKeH4tsg ) Good morning, everybody. As an old Vermonter, today is especially important to me, as it's a holiday there. 'Bennington Battle Day,' the day the local militia in the Vermont, called the 'Green Mountain Boys,' defeated the British army led by General Burgoyne and led to the decisive victory at the upcoming battle at Saratoga, which led to the French getting involved on the Colonial side, which led to the eventual defeat of the British forces, which led to the establishment of the United States! (which lives in the house that Jack built?) For those of you who know it, that's where 'Saratoga Spring Water' comes from. Who knows? Had it not been for the victory at Bennington, 'Saratoga Spring Water' could have been a British product! I have a British product in my cup, as usual. "Royal Breakfast" tea, supplied to me by the old, established British firm of 'East India Company. Delicious as usual! I suppose I'll have to admit that a lot good does come out of the UK... Cadbury's Chocolate, James Bond, Monty Python, Jane Seymour, Triumph motorcycles, Jane Seymour, Savile Row styles, the Beatles, Jane Seymour, ... I think it's time for another cup of tea. Stitchawl |

Having just done a little research via the big G, I found this: "Low in calories, naturally fat- and cholesterol free, more potassium than four bananas, and super hydrating - these are just a few of the many benefits ascribed to America’s latest health craze: coconut water." And a caveat: "Coconut water has less sugar than many sports drinks and much less sugar than sodas and some fruit juices. Plain coconut water could be a better choice for adults and kids looking for a beverage that is less sweet. But don’t overdo it, says Lillian Cheung, DSc, RD, of Harvard School of Public Health. “One 11-ounce container has 60 calories and if you drink several in one day, the calories can add up quickly." |

![]() It's just a restless feeling by my side Early dawning, Sunday morning It's just the wasted years so close behind Watch out, the world's behind you There's always someone around you who will call It's nothing at all Sunday morning and I'm falling I've got a feeling I don't want to know Early dawning, Sunday morning ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KDau6Z103U ) Good morning, everyone. Happy Sunday! For some, a day to get their praise and worship on. For others, lazy in bed with the New York Times crossword puzzle. For us, after a mug of East India Company's "Assam" tea, a plate of fried tofu and moo yaw, it's off to see the Wizard! We'll follow the Yellow Brick Road (actually, a dirt path) to the ruins of an ancient temple in the jungle, for a picnic with friends, and some guitar music around the campfire. Actually, a couple of campfires so the smoke will keep away the mosquitoes. It's Dengue Fever time, and none of us want to deal with it. I've had it twice now, and it is NOT fun! I live covered with Deet these days. It's said most don't survive a third bout with Dengue... Stitchawl |

A Persephone Red Ale. A new brewer has started up on the Coast, and they're making some really good ales. This one is a strong, hoppy, and very full-bodied ale. I liked it, but my wife rejected it after a single taste.
