Seems good on the 3.0 powered hub and has an Ethernet connection which I haven't tried yet.

I dropped by the NEX yesterday and checked out their display model. That's one sweet machine. It's a good thing they only had the 128/4 GB model. I think the sweet spot is the 256/8 GB Core i5, and if they'd had one I'd have been sorely tempted.

Unless you're into video editing or large scale Excel models or maybe CAD you should be fine with 4GB of RAM. Remember it comes with a SSD not a HDD and the speed of those means that virtual page memory isn't the problem it once was.

This is the model I lust after. I concur, for me, at least, that's the sweet spot. This is the newer version of the same one I was lusting after LAST year (and could never find--it was like the vapor-machine).

Happy to help. I have a 512GB Surface Pro 2 (with the 1.9ghz processor) and I like it. It can easily replace most laptops.

My Surface Pro 3, i7 256GB is scheduled for shipment.
The website isn't quite clear.
The front page states "delivery on Thursday".
My order history states "ship on Thursday".
Anyway...
As long as they don't ship from China (normally it's from the Netherlands), it might be here over the weekend.

Just got an email from one of the merchants where I order from time to time:
"Order Surface Pro 3 today and have it tomorrow".
So, obviously, in Germany it's supposed to being launched tomorrow, August 28th.
Let's see, whether I get mine, too...

I've just (Wednesday 9pm CEST) received the shipment confirmation (Surface Pro 3 + the new type cover).
They (Microsoft) have used standard shipment = 2 to 5 days.
Not really important, I haven't got much time over the weekend anyway.
But: I've ordered early = May 21st.
Still I'll get it later than when ordering today from a mere merchant!
Why can a merchant deliver tomorrow? And why can he offer free express shipment with guaranteed delivery next day?
It's little things like that, which could set Microsoft apart from other manufacturers of tablets...

There's no real reason to be annoyed.
Microsoft exactly sticks to their original roadmap, announced from the very beginning.
But when reading the email from this merchant, I really was tempted to cancel my order from Microsoft and order from him.
Well...It's probably a good thing. So I actually might get some work done over the weekend and probably will post my first impressions around Monday next week...

EDIT: It's in Cologne already, 500km from here.
The UPS tracking says, delivery on Friday...

EDIT: Last update says, delivery scheduled for today (Thursday).
