Just this evening it has been adding any new AO3 fics w/ the author listed as anonymous for all of them.

Did I maybe accidentally change a code somewhere or is this something with their coding?

Looks like AO3 changed their URLs for authors a bit.

Try the attached version. It appears to fix it for me.

I got 2 questions:

1. are you familiar with the Alt.Sex.Stories Text Repository (http://www.asstr.org/main.html) and will you put it on the list of archives?

2. I want to sort my stories by fandoms and a lot of them are in different publishers. I don't know whether it's "fandom" or "category" in the metadata; I've been using the "series" column to sort them. What do I do?

The main part of ASSTR is basically just a dump of the newsgroup, with a search engine pasted on top. There's no easy way to retrieve reliable and consistent metadata, so I don't think so. And even though ASSTR has subpages for authors, each page is managed by that author. There's no global database to query, or even a consistent set of metadata displayed on the story page, which would be a requirement for FFDL to work properly.

I'm not going to. As aleyx pointed out, it doesn't fit the model well. www.asstr.org/~Kristen was requested once before, and the note attached was "Site is back, but my spot checks found only text files. FFDL isn't equipped to deal with text input, only HTML."

And I'm frankly getting tired of the fact that all the requests for new sites lately seem to be porn.

However, if somebody else wants to write the code to support it, I will include it.

For most sites it's "category". But it's not consistent across sites. Using the series column for that is short sighted. Many sites have series of stories and many stories are crossovers with more than one category.

I also have a problem with replacing metadata.

When ever there is a () around a piece of text it won't replace.

fx:

category=>Bones (TV)=>Bones

I've tried restarting calibre more than ten times, but it doesn't work.

Check what website_encodings settings you have in personal.ini.

That story works fine for me both in calibre 1.x and the 2.x beta using utf8, windows-1252 and iso8859-1 encodings.

It's getting quite annoying with having to try to download some stories 4-5 times and still never get them.
