ah system errors. i was "refunded" £186.00 as opposed to £1.86 last week after a credit error or more likely human error. Didn't get much of a chance to spend it before it was corrected maybe 3 hours and i only managed to spend about £30 of it. Still it was nice while it lasted.

Guess this won't be the year I finally try a Murakami book...

Naturally I had to buy a new (perkopolis-ed) book to test the (non-existent) credit card problem. Worked just fine.

I don't mind if Kobo decides not to honor a prebuy at a price listed in error (although a lot of businesses would suck it up). But what I do think is a really skeevy practice is claiming non-existent credit card issues. The truth plus an apology is what's called for.

This kerfuffle tends to support the notion that Kobo is moving toward tightening up on sales and discounts.

Actually, I think that is just their default error. I get it all the time. Perhaps their code path always goes to that error because it hits something unexpected and instead of giving you a "We encountered an error" they just pull up the credit card one...

I've still got two pre-orders to come, one next week and one the week after. They were both pre-ordered during the first India 3 cent sale, so I'll see what happens .....

Bloomsbury Publishing seems to be having a bit of a sale in the HK store - similar items also on sale in Nook (UK) and Amazon (UK). There are 35 books which are roughly US$1 each. perkopolis works so now they are 60cents each.
