That was strange.
I had it off, of course.
When I turn it On and then Off again, it worked.

Looking at the history file of the book, it thought that it was on.
Fixed it now.

Thanks again ...

With the risk of being really obsessed about such a small detail (I can spare some more time on this), I wonder if anyone knows a way to minimize the empty space between the progress bar and the 88%, and after the >9.

The space at the left is controlled by the "padding = Screen:scaleByDPI(10)," in the readerfooter.lua.

Reaching for perfection can be an admirable trait, as long as these factors are considered:

1. "The law of diminishing returns"
2. Not everyone will share your view of how anything should be.
3. At some point, even your most ardent supporters will have had enough, and want to "move on".

Luck;

I'm sorry if I overload this thread with questions, but I was under the impression that it served the improvement of this fine reader.

1. Up until now WS64 and NiLuJe were really helpful.
If nobody answered my questions I wouldn't ask them anymore.
I thought that the answers could benefit other users too.
2. I never said that something should be in some way.
I just asked how could I do it.
3. See 1.

Its a pity that I cause you some negative feeling.
Maybe its time for me to "move on".

A little sensitive there? I don't see a lot of "negative feeling" (whatever that is) in my post. If people here can't take a little general philosophy, if they see criticism in every comment, all I can say is, "we are not all Canadians".

I would be the last one to stifle efforts to refine developments in any project.

@WS64; With version 2014.04-485, I see "Search books" and "Search options" in the File Manager menu. Is it only for books that calibre has added to the device? A search function for the File Manager itself would be helpful, for those of us who do not use caliber in that fashion. Your "Search" seems more a "Sort by" function, to me. (Statement not intended to generate any negative feelings)

Hi, I haven't read all 96 pages, sorry. So I hope my question is not TOO redundant. (I installed Koreader on a Kindle PW yesterday, FYI). Today trying to install koreader on a Kobo Touch. The images are all there (start menu works). After installing start menu, I installed the koreader image and restarted the device. Then installed koreader, (stable),used the start menu to install the update, and the files are shown on the device when I connect it. But can't open koreader, either from the image or from the start menu.

What might I have done wrong? What should I reinstall?

You can try the latest nightly builds. As far as I know, they now should be more stable than the last 'stable' release. It's time to release a new stable build to replace the months-old one.

Did you copy the koreader folder from the koreader download zip file into the .kobo directory on your device? With tshering's Kobo Start Menu you do not need to add the koreader.png file or use the KoboRoot.tgz. That said; what you did should still work, assuming everything went into the right place, and the koreader folder was placed into .kobo.

koreader-kobo-arm-linux-gnueabihf-v2014.04-485-gcc46f24 seems to be working fine on my AuraHD reading .epub files and checking out the menus. The list of commits after 455 is getting pretty long. The OTA is pointing to the 485, if it is working for you. (I just go to the OTA Server address in Beijing, using my PC)

Luck;
Ken

@Ken, yes, just for Calibre. I am not sure though why the search options are there at all since I replaced them already with the complete defaults editor which strangely enough is not in the 485...
To search in the books itself (and if it is just for metadata) takes a lot of time and is exactly the reason why I do not use Nickel anymore (after the last time my database got corrupted I could not get Nickel to index all my books anmorre, I gave up).

But why just a "sort by"?
It really is a search in the fields title, author, tags, series, path or any combination of these 5.

I've applied this version. Now it opens. However that's as far as it gets. Anything I try to open results in a window popip with "copy, cut, delete" in it. The only way out of it is to push the power slider, which takes me back to the start menu.

So should I delete the images from the start menu folder? The exit nickel picture was working to take me back to the start menu, but now it's not. Does that sound like the correct behavior?

I have managed to get Cool Reader to work.

@embryo: I asked myself the same question yesterday when playing with the rest, and, err, I think I ended up forgetting about it ;p. I'll see what I can find.

(Talking about the padding on the right of the progress bar).
