filenames in the calibre library
Hi,
I don't understand the rules, the way to modify file names of .epub (and other formats) files. After an importation I got such file names:
L'herbe bleue, Journal d'une jeune fille d - Sparks, Beatrice.epub
instead of:
L'herbe bleue, Journal d'une jeune fille de 15 ans - Sparks, Beatrice.epub
(truncature)
and why I can have only 20 ebooks in the kobo glow reader ?? when I try to send it 60 ebooks. (not exact values)

A matter of file name ? kobo software firmware ? or something else ?

French specialist welcome !

In addition in Calibre all my books have the author fieldS :Name, Firstname
there is a space after the "," Is there a way to change all those fields at once for all the books ?

Where are the old plugins, the duplicates finder ?

answering the last question:
on the Menu: Preferences: Get Plugins: <choose> (restart will probably be required, but you can install many before doing that ONCE after the last one)

Any space BETWEEN fields is controlled by the send to ... template

{title}-{Authors} just a dash, no spaces
{title} - {Authors} with gaps

The comma within the {authors} field is the Ln, Fn standard

Filenames are trimmed to be compatible with all OS pathname limits

And to fix the author names, the Quality Check plugin has the necessary tool for switching books in bulk between
LN, FN <--> FN LN

@Frenchdummy - The names of the author, book folders and files in the library cannot be changed.

You can change the names of the folders and files that are Saved to Disk or Sent to Device via templates and plugboards - see Techniques to use plugboards, custom columns and templates

Not sure to be able to modify things.
Another problem with calibre ( last version ) My Kobo glo is not recognised ( not mounted as a Drive) on My iMac. ( firmware updated by wifi)

If your Glo isn't even mounted as a drive by the OS, there is little Calibre can do about that. I'm not a Mac person, so I don't know what the solution might be; perhaps someone else does.

Could it be the USB cable (wire) ? Or maybe the OS version ( Mac OSX 10.9.4 ) looking for a mac user...
By the way I have similar result with my second glo. (with another firmware)
I'm about to try on another Mac
