David, I believe you,because I don't know what the setting does at all, I only had some random whitelines or so with conversion in calibre, and someone recommended to put it that way in Calibre a long time ago,with those values and since that time it is on zero.. so for me it isn't included in the patch because it is already put that way in the epub at conversion.
I like all my books have the Amasis font because it is the best one to read for me, start all lines at the left, no justify,no ident,remove all fonts exept Amasis, and that does Calibre at the conversion,take all the fonts out, add 5 mm to up and left (when I read at the evening the edges put some shadow with the lamplight i use) maybe that is why I don't have a problem with books on the Kobo a lot of people reports,because all my books are converted before they go into the reader ? ( I keep the original to for my wife but she is using the Sony.. ) So to see the errors that you see, I have to stop the conversion I think ??

What if I want to use it on the Mini, anyway? What changes would need to be made to the string?

How on earth do you even have time to read... but when I look to the strings the address is the same.. if the mini is using the same software but is smaller then the Glo or Aura I would change the latest value for the Glow Aura `font-size: 30px;` into something smaller like 25, but please wait until someone confirm this..there should be a reason why it is not needed in the touch/mini, there is some safety in the patch but I don't want to be the person that bricks your reader

Thanks I will wait til I hear more...those last two values (in each string) I had already modified upward for my devices, with no problems.

I read in small bits usually....here and there....maybe that's why I usually have 3 to 5 books going at once.

Without making it chatting.. I know... I have to go back.. do I read this already... who is who.. sometimes I use a paper and pen to write chacacters and what they do in the story, I made an extra entry to calibre showing if i have read the book or not.. maybe the parrots can read and tell you while you take care of the kids

From the CSS fragment in the firmware it looks like the font size for the synopsis is supposed to be 20px for the Touch/Mini, 23px for the Glo/Aura, and 29px for the Aura HD. But the CSS doesn't work, and all models get the 20px size instead. The values in the patch are just what the firmware would have used if the CSS worked properly, but you can use any value you want, as long as you don't change the total number of characters in the replacement string.

e.g. for the Touch/Mini 22px will be 10% bigger than the default, 24px will be 20% bigger, etc.

Sorry, there is not much chance I will be able to find how to patch the Mini synopsis then, I assumed it would be the same as the Touch.

Have you done it on a Touch? I have one I can test it on.

ETA-ran it on my Touch and I detected no change in the synopsis font change.

The patch should work on the Touch, but I haven't tested it, I'm just going by what the code does: The original code sets a default font size of 20px, and then tries to override it with 23px for the GLo/Aura and 29px for the Aura HD, but the override doesn't work. The patch just changes the default from 20px to another value. I assumed since there were only overrides for the Glo/Aura and Aura HD that all other devices would use the default, but I was wrong about the Mini so maybe I am wrong about the Touch too. All I know for sure is that it works on my Glo.

Interesting. It worked on my Glox2, my Aura and my HD. Following the same procedure I tested it on the Mini and the Touch, and no change. I wonder if anyone else has attempting the synopsis font size change on those devices.

For Touch and Mini, you have to use another address:

On AuraHD In 3.5.0 the search dialog was changed and location of where to search for (Store / Library) is now a dropbox menu on the right from search line.

Is this the reason why there is no patch for changing default search location to library?
