I also changed the file format of all the embedded files into jpg, but unfortunately got the same ugly images within the Koreader.

Could you give this a try and see if there is any difference? On my AuraHD in Koreader the gif images don't get rendered at all, just a square place holder, there are not any ugly images. I was wondering if the ugly might have been due to color rendering but I don't see either image I put in the Test2.epub.

Luck;
Ken

It's strange that Koreaer couldn't open your file (I already tested it and the gifs were missing in Koreader). But I can confirm that it could open two other epubs with tons of gifs on them.

You have to download stardict dictionaries. The GitHub link for doing so is:

I'm wondering why Koreader hasn't regional zoom capability! Besides, I can't access the 2 or 3 columns view without enabling the "reflow". When reading some magazines with multitudes of images among columns oftext, reflowing would cause unbelievable mess. Therefore the best option would be leaving the "reflow" in "off" state.

it seems like if bigger is the font, slower is the device, but if I activate only reflow mode without resizing font, the device is fast and responsive

thx
So is there a (hardware-wise) way to just end all the processes and somehow reset the unit or get back to Nickel?

Public Service Announcement:

Thanks to a Kindle user, I just realized that I made a poo-poo with my latest PR, affecting the -433 nightlies. They're completely broken on Kindle devices, and I also desynced koreader-base, so it may have weird consequences, even on Kobos.

TL;DR: Stay away from -433; and everything should be in order in the next batch of nightlies.

Sorry :/.

Any issues running Koreader on the latest firmware? (3.5.0) I haven't updated fw in awhile and will do so if it's not causing problems with Koreader.

I've just updated my firmware and everything seems quite fine so far.

Koreader Library

Are there any plans to implement a way of searching the books' metadata, like in a library with tags and series support?

Thanks, I just sideloaded 3.5.0 and it's working fine so far with Koreader on my Aura HD.

A question about dictionaries on koreader:

I just installed the Wordnet dictionary in koreader. The dictionary is working but when there are a lot of entries for a particular word I'm not able to scroll down to see more definitions, even though there's a scroll bar on the side of the window. Any way to do this?

You need to, the common definitions are at the bottom. Just swipe from the bottom up across the text, in the box.

I think the big problem right now is that we need a virtual keyboard first.
I already have an idea how to implement a search by just using the Calibre data that Calbire automatically creates when synching the device. But unless somone writes a keyboard (or is there any that I am not aware of?) I don't know how to get the user input to start the actual search in the metadata.

EDIT: Oh, there is already a keyboard... Well, let me check what I can do with that.
I am pretty confident that it is possible to add metadata!
