I'm not really a fan of trade paperbacks. They aren't much more durable than a mass market paperback, and if I choose to read them I'll end up with spine creases. (Yes, I know some people can read paperbacks without creasing the spine but I'm not one of those people. ) Plus, I already have a couple of the later Dresdens in hardcover, so I've got a small start to the collection.

Point. When I read hardcover they always get dirty - at least it makes them look used. I thought trade paperback have a spine similar to hardcover - one that is not glued to the bound pages, but seperate. Don't believe I had one in hand before.

Always easy when you got a start. If you don't, expensive to catch up.

I actually have the Dresden series in paperback, and I also have the e-books version. It's a little hard for me to read the paperback without ending up with spine creases (but it's manageable if I read it very carefully)... but now I just read the ebook version and keep the paperback as keepsake. A downside though, is that they tend to "age" overtime.

LOL. I know that feeling. Fortunately, I've already chosen some books to be demoted to storage in the attic in order to make room.

No, I spend my days reading ebooks! During my breaks I prowl a little on the web. Glad you enjoy what I stumble upon.

Two news items for you today!

First up, Jim’s “Gentleman” Johnny Marcone-focused short story Even Hand is seeing a reprint in Birch Tree Publishing’s Beyond the Pale anthology. Army, huh?

My son will be, or at least wants to join ROTC (or JROTC) this year when he starts high school.
I know that the discipline and routine will be good for him, but I still can't help but freak out a little every time I think about it.
