Personally, I'm not bothered. I was just thinking that a duplicate checker would be more useful then sorting the CSS classes. besides, sorting the CSS classes would actually break Calibre's CSS class order as it would sort them out of order as in calibre1, calibre10, calibre11, calibre2, calibre3...

Because sometimes the duplicate classes are named exactly the same, and sometimes they have 1, 2, 3 etc. added to the same base name. I run into both problems fairly often. I would love to see a duplicate class checker/consolidator plugin that would (somehow) let me specify that I want to consolidate two or more classes into one, but that seemed like a fairly complicated request. I thought a simple sort would let me view similarly named files together, rather than searching for multiple instances of every single class one by one. Talk about tedious...

As a reminder, I'm planning to close the book (so to speak) on this code at the end of the day TOMORROW. If you have any bug reports - or, yes, now, any suggestions for rewording messages - now is the time to file them.

Reword message - instead of 'Stripped spans in' - change to 'modified file'

As has been argued about, the routines do more than just strip spans

"Modified file" is far too vague of a message. Modify EPUB is a Swiss army knife with many functions; while "Stripped spans" carries a little technical inaccuracy (in that it also strips out some other elements), it correctly identifies the routine that made changes and the general nature of those changes. "Modified file" does none of that.

@Rev. Bob - Will that include update to the help file, that's probably the best place to expand on what the new features do. BR |

I lost track of the changes in all the too and fro. Will someone update post #1 in this thread. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 07-30-2014 at 06:10 PM. |

That's up to kiwidude when he makes this release official. That's why I'm shaking the thread for last-minute comments, so I can hand a final build to him tomorrow night. (That's what I meant by "closing the book" on these mods.)

Besides, I have a doctor's appointment and lab work in just over nine hours, followed by surgery the next day and most likely a couple of weeks' worth of heavy drugs. Trust me, you do not want me adding new features right now. | |
