CoolReader detects nook simple touch and shows different eink options that are not shown in a normal tablet or phone.
The options that I recall are Screen update mode and Full Screen update interval. This controls the flash to black that happens in eink reader when changing a pages. Are these available in T68 version of coolreader. |

Here's some of what I've installed so far. There's also a post on The Digital Reader for apps - http://the-digital-reader.com/2014/0...comment-536923
The Overdrive app works well, I downloaded a library book and turned off page animation. Google Play books installs, but you can't turn off page animation so it looks pretty bad. Mantano works ok, it seems to have a page animation if you tap on the left of the screen but looks way better than Kindle, Scribd or Google. Moon+ works the best so far. Calibre Companion works very well, I have 800+ books on my T68 now. If you use Calibre, Calibre Companion is a must have for organizing your books on your device. I also installed InoReader and it works very well. Tapatalk installs and works too. I had trouble with Opera mini - I couldn't make the fonts big enough and it crashed too. You can't install Dolphin mini through the Play Store, but I installed it on my Nexus 7 and restored it using Titanium Backup to the T68 and it's working better than Opera Mini. Yes, Titanium Backup works if you're rooted, but the text is not visible in a number of places. Amazon appstore, Dropbox, Swapps, Gsam battery monitor, and Thumb Keyboard all work. I am running out of space to install more apps! I have moved everything that allows it to the sd card. The one issue in multiple apps is a problem where text doesn't show up on some menus - a sort of white text on white background, but usually in areas you won't need often. |

I see that Amazon will have the T68 back in stock soon and would love to have one IF one particular app will install.
I was wondering if someone would be willing to try to download "Go Read" from Google Play and let me know if it can be done. This device sounds like the one I've been looking for ever since I got my Sony PRS 900 a few years ago. Thanks |

Thanks Purple Lady. It would be greatly appreciated.
Mostly I need to know if it will install from the Play Store. The app runs on something like android 2.1 so if it will install I'm thinking is should work. I'm not sure if you can do anything with the app without a subscription. I have it installed on a rooted T1 but miss the light on my Paperwhite, so would love the combination of e-ink, front light and the Go Read app without having to root. |

That doesn't sound promising...
Thanks for trying. I guess I'll stick with the T1 for now. Karma for you. |

What you shouldn't expect is the various reading-apps from the PlayStore to work properly on an eInk-device - they wont since they are designed to work on LCD-screens. They don't have refresh-options, the menus of some of them are unusable (unreadable), and the animations some of them use just look horrible on an eInk-screen. |

Has anyone tried the current Koreader nightly builds on the T68? Koreader's base was developed for e-ink Kindles and further developed for use on e-ink Kobos and it was only recently that an Android port was released (after a number of Kobo users were dual booting into Android). It is not yet working on all Android devices, but as it gets tried and any problems reported, it could soon work on most of them.
Luck; Ken |

I have animations disabled and didn't notice any difference so I turned them on and it's the same either way with page turns in the Kindle app. Too annoying - other apps allow page animation to be turned off.
