Finished The Hobbit, the first book I borrowed from Kindle Unlimited. This was a combined read/listen, and I enjoyed the re-read.

Now on to another novel, but I've not yet decided which book on my TBR list to start reading next.
Someone mentioned this author/series recently and I found it available at the Kindle Owners' Lending Library (does this still exist or has Kindle Unlimited replaced it). I've begun reading the first novel in the series, The Tall Dolores (Ed Noon #1) by Michael Avallone.

Both the Kindle Owner's Lending Library and Kindle Unlimited are still in existence and available. They have an overlapping, but not identical set of books available.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to decide what to read next. Maybe one of my Miss Silver's? Or perhaps another Peter Robinson? Decisions, decisions. Lots of books in my TBR, and none of them is really reaching out to grab me right now.

Thanks so much for the info. I hadn't known that he wrote a continuation of the Mapp & Lucia books. I'm putting "Lucia In Wartime" on my TBR.

I'm about to start reading his new book "The Outsorcerer's Apprentice".

I borrowed The Tall Dolores a week or more ago (before the announcement introducing Kindle Unlimited). now links that used to be for the Kindle Owners' Lending Library seem to be for Kindle Unlimited instead. I can't actually try it till I've returned The Tall Dolores.

It looks like all of the Miss Silver books are available through KU. Robinson's Inspector Banks, however are not included in KU.

Hmmm... and there's another Lucia book by Holt, Lucia Triumphant. I'll keep these in mind when I've finished reading the original series by Benson.

All the Miss Silver books are in the public domain here in Canada, and available for download here for free. So it doesn't really matter if they're in KU - I already have them all in Calibre. The Robinson books I don't yet have all of (though a lot of them are in my provincial public library), but I'm not surprised that they aren't in KU. Too bad.

In the end, I decided to read Unnatural Death, a Lord Peter Wimsey book by Dorothy L. Sayers. Available from KU, but also available here in the public domain.

If you're in KU, you see the KU link if the book is in both. If you're not, you see the Prime link if you're in the Kindle Owner's Lending Library. Or at least, that's what I seem to be seeing.

I'm not "in" KU but all I see is $0.00 KindleUnlimited and never see $0.00 Prime!

Here's what I see:

...but I've never seen since Kindle Unlimited was announced! [I paid $0.99 for Second Suicide]

When I search for Second Suicide on my Kindle FireHD 8.9, I see both KU, and Prime shown. When I go to order it, I get a single "Read it for free" button.

I quite liked that one, but be aware that it is a (loose) sequel to Doughnut and When It's a Jar. It should work fine on its own, but if you've read the other two, some things will make a bit more sense.

Of course, this is Tom Holt we're talking about. Making sense is strictly optional.

Was just poking around and saw The White Cottage Mystery by Margery Allingham. It is Kindle Owner's Lending Library, but NOT Kindle Unlimited. When I select it, I get a Borrow This Book button.
