Also you see the text files with the font you have selected - remember you can have lots of fonts in the Cybook if you want!

Reading text files in the Cybook is great.
And the same goes for HTML.

Unless things have changed, the Cybook sucks at mutifile-html ebooks. Single-file html and txt are good, as is Mobi, but it still doesn't support chm or rtf.

Even single file HTML isn't so great - last time I tried it, even "internal" hyperlinks didn't work!

In the one HTML-file I have on my CyBook right now I have only one external hyperlink, and when I select that one I get the message: "You can navigate to this Internet address: {name of hyperlink}", and offcourse that doesn't work being an external link.
Then again, that message makes me suspect that I can use internal hyperlinks, I just can't test it here at my work right now. I'll try to check it later..........

later..... No, I don't seem to be able to put an anchor in the HTML-text. Now I'm not a HTML-wizzard but it works in my browser so I guess Harry is absolutely right, NO internal links in the CyBook so far

I completely forgot to try txt on the Cybook last night. Sorry

Fortunately it looks like you got some excellent answers, so I can safely forget again.

To beat HarryT's drum, and all the others' (e.g. Patrica and RWood), it is worth looking at the vast array of converted formatted books here. A "trival" (i.e. unformatted) conversion is easy (but a bit annoying!). The lovely formatting, etc. that they do is so much nicer.

Which is why I'm suggesting the BeBook. BTW, for those who don't know, the link in my sig line leads to an affiliate page for purchasing a BeBook. I get a small finder's fee (around $20) for any purchase made through this link. Please, if you decide to buy a BeBook, do so through my affiliate page.

To be fair, though, it takes literally seconds to convert HTML to Mobi with the free MobiPocket Creator tool (which does give you working hyperlinks, etc) so it's only a minor inconvenience.

Agreed, the BeBook is definitely the winner as far as the variety of formats supported goes. For Mobi specifically, however, the Gen3's support is currently significantly better.

Let's be honest here. For DRM-laden Mobipocket, the Cybook is the clear winner. With the plethora of tools to remove DRM or sources which can be converted to non-DRM mobi, that isn't really a problem any longer.

(Just don't expect me to give up *my* Cybooks willingly. I've got a shotgun and I'm not afraid to use it! )

NOT the Cybook. I'm speaking from experience. I've broken the screen on four Cybooks and one Netronix EB-100. Two of them broke literally as I was paging through an ebook.
