Given the historical evidence, I think it would be logical not to bother posting contest codes of under 45%. After all, as you note, many of those go unused. It might even be worth not posting anything under 55%, with the understanding that if the wells are running dry, we could drop back to the 45% mark.

But I agree overall; when 45% codes are going unused, there's no sense in posting any lower contest codes. The presence/absence of other codes, like PERKOPOLIS, is a red herring.

Not wanting to start a debate either, but I was just thinking that they may just be trying to be helpful. I actually posted a lower value coupon a while ago too, until someone reminded me that the 40% perkopolis code still works. I had totally forgotten about it. Luckily for me I hadn't bought anything with the lower code yet as I was still "trimming" my list of books to buy.

Re the continuing debate/discussion on the value of the codes we post ..... well that's an issue where there seems to be at least 2 clear schools of thought: those who suggest that we don't post lower than the 'current' non Contest code; and those who suggest that all codes can be posted.

I sit squarely in the don't post codes lower than the current non Contest code - in this case 40%. But that's just my view.

Luckily there are sites like India where I've yet to see a current code that didn't work.

And for those who only prefer to shop at their home country then it is most unusual for a current code not to work on a book that can be discounted.

However, having said that, the Japanese store now only accepts codes that it puts out itself. So let's hope that that model doesn't catch on for the rest of us.

I mean, if I want a code, and I'm trying them, I'll be going through the list one by one from best to worst, and taking whatever I can use. If it's a 10% and I'm happy to use it, I'll use it.

Yes .... once in the new lookout checkout and once in the old look checkout (on the same account)

And don't forget that you can multi tab only on the new look checkout, and not the old look checkout (eg Singapore)

I managed 16 with one 75% code last week (Thanks LynxLynx)

Do your buy now thing in a separate tab for each book you want to buy, select Paypal or credit card on each, then apply your promo code to each book, before completing the purchase. Complete each purchase one after the other, should accept them all.

I don't know the difference between old and new checkouts, though, so would need someone else to explain that. I only get one variety of checkout on Chrome or Firefox.

Omg, thanks so much for telling me! I used to prefer the old checkout system but now I think I like the new one better LOL!! We need to have the system (the Singapore site) changed to the new one soonest possible, like now!

16 books with one code?!

I'm using old checkout, and I was successful only once in purchasing 2 (or was it 3?) books with the same code. All the other times I tried were unsuccessful.
