Is there a way to set Moon+'s interface to flat, instead of the grey tones and textures? A very nice reader which would work well on a tablet is Pocketbook Reader. (AFAIK, it has nothing to do with Pocketbook.) I've been testing it on my tablet. It doesn't have a lot of options, but it does work very well; it has a simple userinterface, and I would expect it to work well on an e-ink device.

If you choose the "Outdoor" theme, it's just black text on a white background. That's about as "flat" as it gets. Does it matter how the configuration screens look? Once you've set them up the way you want them, you need never look at them again.

When you do a long press on text in Moon+, you get a pop-up with various options in it, including one to show the dictionary definition. In that initial pop-up, there's a check box to go directly to the dictionary definition. Check that, and you won't get the pop-up again.

I don't use any of the installed readers, I prefer Moon+. I also like AlReader, but prefer the Play Store version. The one installed has a bug that makes it unusable for me. The problem is with page refresh when using AlReader. Whenever the page refresh happens, it doesn't change to the next page, but if I then tap the screen to change the page it jumps two pages ahead. This happens with every page refresh.

AlReader has been replaced by "OReader" in the new firmware: I don't know if it's a different app, or just a different name for the same one.

I'm still getting the error you were getting trying to upgrade. I even did all the steps you did, but no luck.

That's a pain . It seems to be incredibly flaky. Have you removed your SD card?

I unmounted it like you did. It did go further into the upgrade process when I did that - I didn't have to use the check update from local storage option. I'll try removing it next.

Have you deleted the "update.zip" file from the root of the "sdcard" folder and re-downloaded it?

Yep. I did that when following every step of what you did. I'll try again.

Hmmm. Best of luck! Unfortunately I've no idea which of the many things I tried eventually made it work.

Thank goodness the Booxtor-version updated without any problems and/or work-arounds.

As for the different reader-apps; I prefer the Onyx Neo Reader - unlike Moon+ or FBReader this only actually uses and honours the book-specific internal CSS rather than overriding it (OnyxReader does too, but is awfully slow at page-turns.)

The overriding of css is one of the reasons I like Moon+. I started using my Nexus 7 exclusively to read because I was tired of converting epub to epub or editing the books. I hate huge margins and line spacing especially.

That's why I prefer to adjust the css (without converting); I want my books to look the same (no line-spacing, font-size, font, margins), regardless on what device I read them. But for that I need readers that honour the css.
