No problem! You can just add all 25 stories and download or update them -- I was never personally blocked and I even fiddled with the sleep settings

! Be aware though that while you don't have to supervise it constantly to add new stories after the current batch (as you seem to have done), it will still take quite a while, possibly 30 minutes and more depending on the stories.

Do you know if it is possible to add the url where the stories come from in metadata?

For example: https://www.fanfiction.net/movie/Pir...n=1&r=10&p=727

Principally it's possible, yes. The problem is that the stories on your linked page might shift around, once new stories are added matching the criteria you specified on the site's filter. So if you checked this page in a few months, you might not find the story there again. If you still want to try it you can add a custom column, call it whatever you want -- for example "Original Source" and then edit the "Custom Medata" in Calibre and set the corresponding URL there. If you don't want to see the new column at all times in the Calibre view you can just hide it with a right-click, it won't disappear entirely and you can still change values within it over the "Edit metadata" menu.

The Author url, it doesn't show up as a link, do you know if I can get it to show up as a link? and maybe story URL as well?

Do you mean in the ebook itself or in Calibre? I don't think Calibre supports URL column-types.

You can check "Preferences->Change Calibre behaviour->Advanced->Tweaks" a window opens. Click on "Specify columns by which to sort the booklist on startup" and edit the tweak to:

sort_columns_at_startup = [('date', 1)]

Then click "Apply changes to this tweak" and "Apply" in the upper-left corner. After restarting, Calibre should automatically display your library sorted by date. The 'date' in this case is the column, the 1 means descending while 0 means ascending. If you wanted to sort on a different column, e.g. a custom column of yours, you could change 'date' to '#mycustomcolumn'.

Unless you meant something completely different by auto-sort? You can simply click on the column headings for sorting to apply to the view.

One thing: I wish it was possible when you have Hierarchial tags, that you could click on one of the top ones and get all that is underneath in hierachies ... (I don't know if it's understandable)

I wasn't aware that hierarchical tags were a feature? You mean for example if you had 2 entries with the tags:

"fanfiction, Naruto"
"fanfiction, Harry Potter"

That you could "expand" the tag "fanfiction" somehow and it would display all tags that are contained with the "fanfiction" tag in the tag-column?, i.e. in this example "Naruto" and "Harry Potter"? The best way I know how to do that is to simply enter:

tags:"=Fanfiction"

into the search box at the top of Calibre. This would list all entries containing at least the tag "Fanfiction", so in a way you would have your hierarchy; But as far as I know that isn't a feature that is natively supported by Calibre, hence it seems a bit clunky. If you want to make it a bit more accessible you could save that specific search (button towards the right of the search box), or simply use Calibre's sidebar to click on a specific tag.

In the details pain, the authors name is a link. You can set the default somewhere, but you can set a different link for each author. This is done on the "Manage Authors" dialog. There, you can set the URL to use for the author link.

But, you shouldn't need to do this. FFDL sets this when downloading a story. Or at least it does for each site that I have tried.

That's what the post a couple earlier than the one I quoted seemed to say, so I thought this was something different.

For that, I can think of a few ways to do it:

- FFDL will add the story URL as a url id. You can also have a "uri" with an address. I was thinking you could have multiple URL ids, but that doesn't seem to work.
- Add the URL to the comments. They will be clickable.
- Add a custom column with type "Long text, like comments, not shown in the tag browser".

None of these will appear in the column list, but they will hold the info needed and be presented as a link.

Question about possibly updating/changing the way the Reject list behaves.

I'm wondering if it's possible to set/toggle FFDL to automatically either skip or reject any links that are already on the Reject list. Normally I don't mind if it double-checks if I want to re-download or reject a previously rejected story but I'm currently working on downloading roughly 54,000 stories from AO3. I'll set it to download 1,000 to 1,500 links at a time and wander away while it processes for an hour or so. Sometimes that's fine, other times I come back to find it stuck on a story waiting for a decision.

I did take a look at the personal.ini default settings but, honestly, I understood less than a 1/3 of what I was looking at.
