Because it looks like you are interested in eBooks from Apple and Apple is a bad idea to get eBooks from since they are the onces that totally messed up a good thing we had going before Agency pricing. We had discounts. We had sales. We had rebates. We had rewards. We had Fictionwise. We had BooksOnBoard.
Now we don't have that like we used to have. So screw Apple and don't even buy free eBooks from them. I just think Apple should be banned from selling eBooks for no less then 10 years. |

We might not have gotten agency in the exact form we did without Apple in the mix, but I'm highly doubtful things would have stayed 100% status quo even if they never got into ebooks. Fictionwise was likely eventually doomed the second the Pendergasts sold to B&N.

+1 to drjenkins
In any case, my post wasn't intended to "blame" Amazon so much as to point out a poor business practice when it comes to pre-orders. And also to let other folks in the same boat know that they can return it for a full-refund and buy it again at the reduced price, if they so desire. |

I was referring to your statement that this was "Amazon's new practice". It's absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with Amazon.

![]() Rereading the book right now! ![]() I'd have been quite annoyed if I discovered the lower price after preordering it and the money going through, though. Not sure what the thought process was there. O_O Nothing wrong with returning it and grabbing it at the lower price. I thought the whole point of a preorder was to lock in the lowest possible price. At least that's the only reason I've ever preordered something. ^^; |

If after, (perhaps to price match), then that's just the way things went. But if before or at release, then I am annoyed. I never got confirmation of order or notification of availability for download, but it did show up on my kindle. |
