Last night while reading Skin Game - let's just call it "The Great Chase Scene" to avoid spoilers - I still had this thread in my mind and pictured him as Butters. It worked very well. I could definitely see him in the role.

After reading the first fourteen books in the Dresden Files series there seemed little doubt that I was going to love Skin Game by Jim Butcher. The only real question was whether I was going to like it more or less than other books in the series.

I really like Goodman Grey. I hope we see more of him at some point. And am I the only one that teared up when Michael and Harry were trying to get through to Nic? Actually, I teared up more than a few times during this one.

And oh, my. Batman Butters and his Lightsaber of the Cross... That was so awesome!

Agghhh! I see Butter as being more loveable, but fussy. And of course looking as if he could actually be caught dead doing a polka or at least whistling one?

Have you seen any of Garson's work? I pictured him as Butters because over the last decade or two I've seen him a lot on TV and a significant percentage of his characters (Willie's a Character Actor) fit Butters nicely IMHO.

Not when I was aware of him. I looked him up just now on IMDB and I have seen a few, but he didn't seem to make an impression. Of course TV/movies saves me big bucks on sleeping pills as I tend to fall blissfully asleep. It can take me a week to watch a one hour show so I may have missed his big moments.

Then I looked up images and just not seeing it.

But so far I can't come up with an alternative, so pay me no mind Must try to stay awake for TV dammit)

I just started reading the series and I am only about 60% into book one but I love it so far.

This was a quick photo find that had Jay with glasses... the lightsaber was just a plus.

Actually Jay is only 5 years younger in real life than Butters in the novels (32/37). The main thing that would keep him from being a good choice would be the height. Jay is 6' 2" so he's almost a foot taller than the fictional butters.

Minor little details like that have never stopped Movie/TV Executives from casting actors in the past.
