This was initially released in serial format. Since I hate serials, I was waiting for the whole book to come out. My wait has been rewarded with a nice sales price. Roman Holiday: The Complete Adventure by Ruthie Knox - $1.99 I was so good in June - only bought 10 books - but the first week of July has been a killer on the wallet - so many good sales. The one-click button's been getting quite a workout. |

Only one book bought for me this week - an Entangled $0.99 new release... but I bought some actual paper back romances too - haven't done that in at least a year! Hope those who celebrated had a good holiday! Quote:

Reading your exchange about this author made me do some digging. Here's her bio from the Bodice Ripper Novels blog post: "STORMFIRE by Christine Monson- With Author Photo and Obituary[/URL" (December 1, 2011 at 8:01 AM), original source: Claire Martin, Denver Post Staff Writer. (September 19, 2003). "Obituary: Romance novelist loved adventure - on paper Greeley author preferred to live vicariously." The Denver Post . News: pA-24. Sean is the alpha of all alphas. I don't think you can find one more alpha than him. It is the most memorable book I have ever read. It's was almost traumatic reading it.

Stormfire is one of the most controversial romance books there is. It's not for the faint in heart and to me there isn't much true romance in it. I found it a novel about the human spirit and how it can learn to triumph and overcome in even the most cruelest and hardest of circumstances and find peace in the end.

Checking in: I hope you 4th was good. I stayed in and read a book. No historicals this year I am too engrossed in my current series. No book purchases either I think. I bought stuff for the apartment instead. I read: Bloodfever by Karen Marie Morning (4.5) I am reading Faefever by Karen Marie Morning Keep in mind if you read this series to have all books ready as they end going right into the next one like one gigantic book. I can't imagine have reading this waiting for the next one to come out it would have drive me batty. Ms Morning is an expert in world building and one of the most strongest writers I have read. I compare her writing to J.K. Rowling. It's smart, witty and very strong. No simplicity here. There are some romantic elements to the series and a HUGE amount of sexual tension between the heroine and the lead male. Also like most urban fantasy it's written in first person but the author does it in a way like you would see on TV. Like she is doing a memoir of what happen It's just so amazingly brilliant with how she writes first person it's going to be hard to revert back. This is not your typical paranormal world. If you are tired of vampires, shifters and the like give this series a try. It's different and be prepare to set time away to read them because they are hard to put down. I think this series has given me bags under my eyes from staying up too much. This is one for my keeper shelf if I ever get the money right now I am reading them through Overdrive. I do have the first one though. It was a freebie many years back. |

I read the first one, Darkfever, two years ago. I didn't care for the cliff hanger type ending, haven't gone back to the series, yet. I am trying to be more consistent in reading series, instead of jumping around like a rabbit.
