There is a law firm that is specialized in immigration that had accidentally printed our telephone number on their paper. They knew this but every couple of months we would get several phonecalls a day by people speaking little to no Dutch. It was often impossible to get them to understand they called the wrong number. Often the people calling were upset or half hysterical. When we called the law firm to tell them they were using the wrong paper again we usually got a rude answer.

Until someone from the governments immigration services called trying to reach the law firm. I explained our problem and he told me he would deal with it and since then we haven't gotten any phone calls anymore.

Status Update: The 2 surplus chairs remain in the server room, uncleaned. Seems the boss isn't quite so keen to add them to his office .....

Hmmmm .... a little Resolve and a Shop-Vac, and I'll have 2 'new' chairs for the server room ....

I just slipped getting off of the toilet and I think I may have ripped some staples wh iiine! I have p.t. in 5 hours, just 4 now. I'll stick to bed, do some mild under the cover stretches and hope for the best

Ouch! I hope no serious damage, just some serious unpleasantness.

You need one of those seat extenders. They're like giant plastic donuts, and raise the seat about four inches.

Congrats on surviving the ordeal.

Maybe try Red Cross or the hospital for a loaner.

Out here we have a few "super drug stores" that have a section for post-op and physical therapy supplies. And, there's always Amazon -- they had a strap I needed for my knee stretches after my regular PT ended.

The other useful thing is a "grabber" to pick things up off the floor. Amazon sells them, and they are useful to have around long after the surgery. Pretty much everything I needed I got from the local health clinic's "share shed". I think the grabber was the only thing I actually had to buy, and that was because I knew I'd want it after.

Kitchen tongs are better than nothing if you don't have a grabber

Hmmm. Somehow I doubt those are 32 inches long.

IAC, I admit to being old enough that the grabbers are useful in and of themselves.

Earlier in the week we got a batch of new motion detector sensors. It includes a manual in English, or at least, it's writting in English words but a lot of the times it just doesn't make any sense.

They talk about "inflated screws", we think they mean screws with a rounded head. It also contains the sentence:
"The unrest objects can't be regarded the installation basis-face"
I know from another sentence that "unrest objects" means "moving objects", so we think they mean somethings like "when installing the sensor make sure that there are no moving objects within the detection field".

The manual is three A5 pages long, I can only translate one side at a time because otherwise my brain wants to explode.

Another fun one:
"electrician or experienced human being can install it"
