Kobo Discounts: Coupon Codes + Discussion

@zelda: Ahhh, that make sense if you're being blocked because it is a one use code as described. (and I haven't used it before)

However, my understanding re store credit is that you can only use it to buy a book in the same currency ... well that's what happened to me when I received some store credit in AUD and tried to use it in other countries.

Store credit is only that way on the old checkout (I think, been a while since I tried it). On the new one I have traveled plenty and never had a problem. I have no foreign transaction fees to worry about AND the exchange rate Kobo offers is either on par or better than I find on XE.

Plus since I am in Canada I can go to any Chapters/Indigo and just buy a gift card.

None of them took my fancy. As others have posted, there is some variation to the books on offer between different countries. I tried Aus, UK and India sites.

I just randomly tried the code on 2 books on offer on the India site (using the link) and the code doesn't work. So it would seem that the code really may be programmed to work only in the countries listed in the fine print.

Whoa! The code actually works at Kobo international! (Buying in Malaysia)

I picked a Nora Roberts' book from the list, tried the code, and it's successful. Wow. Now I need to consider which book to buy from the list.

WOW! Kobo has the stupidest customer service team! I requested a phone call at 2:42 pm my local time. They called me back at 10:45 pm! Who does that?!

The same company that requires a USA or Canada phone number even for customers outside North America, without which you can't even submit the customer service form.

so much for the code and link! I am really glad to find a few books from my favorite authors / series in the list and I got my hand on one of the books! I also did a quick check for similar priced books for the same authors and managed to come across another book that could be discounted too even if it was not in the "bestseller" list. Unfortunately, that was the only one I could find lol.

And oh, I'm buying from Singapore and the code works for me too!

I just used PERKOPOLIS. It worked fine. What happened yesterday? I dunno.

I'm currently seeing a banner on Kobo saying "Use 30UNLIMITED to get 30% off select ebooks". It appears to only apply to books at this link, but they seem to be an eclectic selection.
