No one is laughing at anybody, I'm just trying to help ! It seems to me that it should say:

Assuming that your custom column has the internal lookup name #ratings (plural).

I've input it exactly as you've written, but it still says M instead of NC-17 ...

You can do that, but I'm not home currently and won't be for the next ~10 hours, so I can't really do much testing, but maybe I'll see an obvious mistake.

It is a bit strange though that you would put these lines into the defaults section, not every site uses 'M' as the rating.

I tried to make a custom column built from other columns... I thought that if I couldn't get it to replace the metadata maybe I could force it that way...

Didn't work out neither.

I have the following for the Fanfiction.net

T=>Teen
K+=>Older Kids
K=>Kids

I'm trying adjust it to put it in under the other sites as well.

You can't forget the the "rating=>" at the beginning. So it should look something like this:

replace_metadata:
    rating=>M=>Adults Only
    rating=>T=>Teen
    rating=>K\+=>Older Kids
    rating=>K=>Kids

You need to be careful with special characters such as .+?[]() etc. Since this is a regular expression you'll need to escape them with \. And just copy that section and adjust the middle part, i.e. M, T, K+, K to whatever the other site uses.

Makes perfect sense from what I can tell, except this line in dark-solace.org:

rating=>NC\17=>Adults Only

I'm not sure why you wrote NC\17? The 1 doesn't need to be escaped. It should just be "NC-17" like the rest from what I can tell. When you paste code snippets, try and wrap it within CODE tags, so the formatting isn't lost. It's the little '#' symbol at the top of the editor.

Attached is a test plugin version with an adapter for http://fictionmania.tv/. See the plugin-defaults.ini accessible via the personal.ini configuration menu within the Calibre plugin to see additional available options (for example additional metadata you want to display on the titlepage). Let me know how it works.

I'm not sure when I'll tackle the russian sites (I only speak english and german well), it would take quite some time if I decided to. I'll have to see, sorry about that.
