Moon+ Reader: How do I preserve section breaks?

I read books that have section breaks—blank lines inserted between one section and the next. But Moon+ gets rid of them, even if I leave "trim blank lines and spaces" unchecked.

Any way to fix this?

Can anyone offer me some advice on this? This is a really annoying issue. I hate reading books where the sections run together; it's confusing.

Didn't answer before because I have no solution. I've tried to figure out the same thing without luck. There are a lot of things I like about Moon+, but it seems like it's made to disregard stuff like this on purpose. If it's important to you to have the section breaks remain intact it's probably best to try a different reader such as Mantano. Maybe we'll both get lucky and someone else knows of something in Moon+'s dozens of settings.

I just found this! In miscellaneous settings there is a "Disable CSS styles". In the settings for that, uncheck "Disable Paragraph margin spacing (<p>)".

I always had that checked because I like a space between paragraphs, but I am currently reading a book that has a lot of scene breaks so I decided to try it. It probably depends on how your book has scene breaks coded though.

That doesn't do what I need. That leaves a space between all paragraphs, but it doesn't put any extra space between section breaks. So it's basically the same effect.

I miss section breaks too. I suppose in Calibre you could run it through and choose the option to mark section breaks with *** It's better than nothing.

Ugh. No, I'm not going to reconvert 1,129 e-books for the sake of a stupid e-reader client that's broken in such an important function.

Fortunately, I've found another Android e-reader I like better. Pity I paid for Moon+ before I found out it has this unfixable glitch, but oh well.

Whatever works for you. I prefer Moon+ over Play books but I can live without sections breaks. I convert as I go so I don't have a problem with if I need to fix something. I have over 15,000 books though so that's what works for me.

If it's checked it adds a space between all paragraphs, but unchecked it leaves the space there for section breaks only on a few books I just checked. Looking at them in Calibre Edit book the section break is coded by having margin-top: 1.5em, so if your books are coded that way it should work.

What it does totally depends on the code of the individual ePub.

Apparently it also depends on resetting the option as well as closing and opening the book again. I just opened one of my books it did work on before and the paragraph spaces were back even though the setting was off. I had to turn it back on and then off to get it to work again.

The one thing I can't find in any other reader so far is what page I am on in the chapter and how many pages are in the chapter. Moon+ does have a lot of bugs but also has a lot of things other readers don't have.

Just FYI, the free Kobo reading app also uses page-within-chapter. But there are a few things I don't much like about the app.

Thanks, but there's a lot I don't like about Kobo's app - at a minimum I need to be able to change justification, fonts, margins, and line spacing. Out of these it can only allow font type choice and none of the rest. I used to use it, but the default choices don't work for me anymore.

Thanks! I tried this before but didn't like it because I didn't see where you could change anything. Well, I just decided to try the menu key that my device doesn't have and found a lot! Most reading apps have options by tapping the center of the screen and there's not a lot you can change there. Since a lot of reading apps don't let you change much, I thought that was it. Boy was I wrong!

I'll have to play with this some more. I use a root app that hides soft keys and always shows a menu key when you unhide the keys. How do you get to the menu otherwise? Even when I don't hide the keys the Nexus 7 doesn't have a menu key.
