This was a nice addition to my Prime. I already stored quite a bit of music on Amazon, some bought directly from them, others matched up with my Amazon CD purchases, and still others uploaded from my local library. Now I just added a whole bunch of albums and "almost albums". (There are many albums where all but one or two tracks on the album are Prime, but because of those one or two tracks, they don't show when you search on Albums and Prime. But you can add all the individual tracks that are Prime.) Overall - a good fit for me. I like to listen to music while I work. Especially when I'm heavily writing - I put on the headset and crank up the volume to drown out the world. I wish we could download to our PCs, but I'm not surprised that the didn't offer that option. |

This is a bit confusing. I can't really figure out what I am doing on the website. Am I downloading when I click that blue button, or what. How do I just play something without downloading. But I really need it on the Roku. I have to have big speakers and sound with music, don't really listen to it on small devices.

I saw it this morning and thought Google Play Music All Access might have some competition. 1 MM tracks vs >15MM. Cannot download to SDC for playing music offline. Guess I will stick with my $10/month subscription and use the Amazon teaser for fun. Curated playlists are nice though. |

In video, Hulu and Netflix have different business models from Prime so its not quite as cutthroat. They can afford to sacrifice android users to drive tablet sales. Plus, worse, if they had a generic android app, the generic Android STBs would undercut the Fire TV. They tend to think ahead at Amazon.

I was mistaken. It's not on the Roku just yet. I've got it on Amazon Music on the PC, but not on the Roku just yet.

Amazon just updated the PC Amazon Cloud Player to Amazon Music as well. Go here to see what changed: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?docId=1001226941 |

I hope it will be on Roku. I listen to music only through my system and love my cloud player on it already. And once they give me an Audible app for the Roku, I'll be really happy.

I just wasted a lot of time happily adding music to my library, only to find out that none of it has shown up in the Amazon Cloud Player for the Roku. WTF?

It hasn't made it to the Roku yet, Catlady. I'm waiting patiently as well. For now, I'll play it through Amazon Music on the PC and wait for it to be available on the Fire and Roku. Hmmmm... does anyone know if it is available through Fire TV yet?

The Fire Tablets are supposed to get an update... real soon now... I did get an update yesterday...to the email app. It is annoying not to be able to play with the new toy right away but this sort of stuff is hardly new. We see it every time they do an update, in fact. Some get it early while others have to wait. Not fun being in the latter camp. My disappointment was seeing that the cloud player doesn't work on XBOX. (PANDORA's web-based player does.) I'll just swallow my disappointment and make do with the phone app for now and hope they do something for XBOX soon.

Thanks shalym for finding that. Just a matter of time then. I'll have fun with this through my roku. I already found some nice music I like. I'll just keep adding what I see and then I am ready to go once the new channel shows up in the channel store. |
