ah, see, you've lost me : love chocolate, not so sure about chocolate cheesecake (is that natural ?), know that white chocolate is an abomination having nothing chocolatey about it but the (thoroughly inaccurate) name.

but i'm willing to believe your grandmother's sugar cookies are amazing.

Sadly, were. I use the abomination as a partial cream cheese substitute, giving the result a smoother and perkier flavor. But here in Texas, we tend to make cheescakes without the "bite" of most receipes. We tend to substitute Vanilla for orange or lemon zest. So instead of a cream cheese "bite", it comes out smooth as X.O. Congac. (Hic) But we all have our individual tastes...

too funny! On another thread, I posted "Klaatu Barada Niktu"

and on the top of this page is "The Day the Earth Stood Still".

The above is a quote from the movie.

If I took my laptop apart, would I find a little man in there busily typing away??

my grandmother puts in bitter almond extract. it comes out smooooooth. and creamy. (not sure what you mean by perkier). no bite, it's like velvet on your tongue. if you like smooth i recommend trying that, with just cheese (no white chocolate) ; you might like it.

oh god, now i want cheesecake.

How much per cake? I'll use in my next cheescake! Perky - hmmm - a bit sweeter, a bit of buttery taste, shrug, I can't describe it further. (My wine tasting notes are read as comedy in my world.....)

how much ? heh... you know, a splash. my grandmother, when i ask her about recipes, is notorious for telling me "then add just a little flour, just enough so the dough will come out nice, not too much, you know..." etc. it's an art, not a science. i'd say about a coffee spoonful.

of course, it could be worse : my cousin told me the story of going to learn how to bake her new husband's favorite cake from her new sister-in-law. she came home furious.
"what happened ??" asked her husband.
"i asked her how much flour to use, and she said "i just fill up the bowl to the crack" !!"

heheheh.

It didn't occur to your cousin to just measure how much that was?

Not that precise measurements are always the best in cooking. The Muffin Man has recipes he starts from, but he always adjusts as he goes, especially adding flour or liquid on humid or dry days. (And sometimes just adding something for the fun of it, like crystalized ginger. MMMMmmmm!)

Throw all into crockpot, stir, cover and walk away for at least 8 hrs. Even better the next day.

Some people like to add meat, or chicken. Enjoy!

And that recipe serves just the one ?

The simple explanation:

What is being pushed: The e-mail
To where: The e-mail client on thephone
By whom: the mail server

It means that as soon as an e-mail hits the mail server it is sent immediately(*) to your phone.

The other option is pull e-mail where the e-mail client polls the mail server at regular intervals to check to see if there are new messages, and downloads the lot at that time.

(* for random values of immediate, given that things can go astray in the ether and so on)

My mum's cooking instructions are like that. And to top it off with, you leave things in the oven, on the hob etc "until it's cooked" with no real indication of time! Now I know cooking times aren't absolute - it depends on the oven etc, but a rough guide is useful!
