I registered and was sent back to the original screen. I checked, nothing was out of place. I filled out the passwords again and capcha only to be sent back. I did it three times, before I decided to simply go ahead and Log In. It worked.
I think you get registered the first time, but a glitch sends you back to the wrong page.

I have the same problem. I tried with several emails but so far I couldn't get in like you after three times. Everytime it sent me back on original screen.

I think that the Contest Registration process had a problem earlier.

It worked on and off for me, but I did get them all registered. So keep trying.

Yep, it does make a difference ....

The Japanese store is Rakuten, the owners of Kobo, and they restrict and control usage to their ebooks very differently to the kobobooks.com site that the rest of us use.

Which is unfortunate for the Japanese folk; and may be what will eventually happen to the rest of the Kobo world as well. That is if the Rakuten site becomes the world wide Kobo site.
