Jimm, I think it should be pretty safe now to release the new version. Tanjamuse doesn't seem to have any more problems, I suppose they would have said something by now. I also tested a few stories for all adapters and everything worked without a hitch. Just to recap: there are three new adapters now for the following sites:

Is there a way to add metadata to the tags? Like I'd like to add "ao3 downloader" for stories I download from A03 and "ff.net downloader" for stories I grab from Fanfiction.net.

I'd also like to know if there is a way to exclude some fandom tags like "Marvel Cinematic Universe" but keep the other fandom tags?

It worked!

Now this is a long shot but can is it possible to use "if" statements, like if "Marvel Cinematic Universe" is detected add the tag "marvel"?

I'm assuming you basically want to turn "Marvel Cinematic Universe" into "marvel"? You can do that like this:

replace_metadata:
 fandoms=>Marvel Cinematic Universe=>marvel

Don't forget to remove the "exclude_metadata_pre" section before adding this line to the "[archiveofourown.org]" section then.

I agree that cryzed is giving you good advice here.

However, I'd also point out that the source site is populated into calibre's Publisher field. So adding that to the tags is a bit redundant, plus you have to do it for each site.

I've tried replicating the replace_metadata code with other tags like this:

However, the fandom tag "Thor (Movies)" did not turn into Thor.

I was able to get "fandoms=>Marvel Cinematic Universe=>Marvel" to work, however when I tried fandoms=>Thor (Movies)=>Thor it didn't work.

I also had trouble with "fandoms=>Star Trek: Alternate Original Series (Movies)=>Star Trek" Basically, it appears that any tag that has (), or : failed to replace the metadata.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hey, the problem is that the "replace_metadata" instruction expects regular expressions. Each special character listed on this page, must be escaped with a '\'.

So your configuration file section should look like this:

# only put fandoms in tags
include_subject_tags: fandoms
# Remove the FanFiction tag that FFDL includes for most sites.
extratags: a03 downloader
replace_metadata:
 fandoms=>Thor \(Movies\)=>Thor
anthology_tags:

Attached is a test version of the plugin with an adapter for http://nocturnal-light.net/. Please test it thoroughly and let me know if you find any errors.

Please note that I have not included the author's notes for now, that was a conscious decision. Grabbing them reliably from the page is just way too much work for a relatively unimportant piece of information.
