Got Frozen - is the warranty invalidated by books without drm
My Kobo is definitely gone.
I have tried everything I read and everything the call center people suggested me to do, but it is not working.

Because the issue is not the screen, I think I could get a product replacement, but I am wondering if it would be safe.

I have a bunch of books on my Kobo I did not properly buy.

Are they able to discover, in a frozen device, if the ebooks are simply DRM-freed (for personal use it is not illegal in my country), or if they are not othodoxically purchased?

I feel ethically safe.
They are ALL ebooks not commercially avaiable in my language.

Of couse, the legal issue is different.

I very much doubt they'll care at all. They probably won't be able to retrieve the data and they'll likely immediately perform a factory reset if they can.

Personally, I doubt that even if they did manage to recover the books, that they would care. Far more likely that they would re-write the internal storage without looking at anything.

What happened when you did a factory reset? Have you been able to do a factory re-set?

Because that will delete all the books from the device. (Or already have deleted them if that's what you did)
