If you go directly to their website, they have a total of 27 audiobooks:
  • ejunto (27 titles) --> public domain history and philosophy audiobooks

The name ejunto is is a modern version of Benjamin Franklin's Junto society. Formed in 1727 in Philadelphia, Junto was an early American society that met weekly to discuss their readings and research for mutual improvement.

junto.org is an electronic model of Franklin's original Junto Society. Founded in the spring of 2005 by former National Park Service Ranger Andrew Julow, Junto's brings high quality historical and philosophical audiobooks to the public domain.

Not to be confused with "junta:"
"a group of political intriguers; esp., such a group, of military men in power after a coup d'état" --collinsdictionary.com (American English)

Christian Audio free audiobook of the month is Frank E. Peretti's This Present Darkness.

http://christianaudio.com/free/

-----This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti and published by Crossway Books was a landmark book when published in 1986. This abridged audiobook takes you on the journey into the mysterious spiritual warfare encountered by a praying pastor and local reporter. It is not for the faint of heart!-----

This is a novel, fiction . . . for those Mobilereaders who may be like me and like to stick with non-fiction genre.

I always look forward to the first of the month when publishers--audio and ebook--put out their once-a-month freebies. In addition to christianaudio.com, The University of Chicago Press should be coming out soon, Logos Bible software . . . .

It Looks Like I Was Wrong, after I Was Right

In case anyone has as poor a memory as me (not likely), I went back in the archives to check. The offer ended April 27, it is/was good for 60 days; therefore, the offer ends (without getting a calendar and counting the days (and forgetting whether or not April had 30 days or 31 days and June has 30 days or 31 days (I never committed to memory that song about the number of days in each month arrggghh))) on or about June 26.

So . . . those of us with the credit have about another month to decide upon what to spend it.
I was just at my Audible account and noticed that my credits were down today to $0 (zip!, zilch!, zero!, nada!)! The credits that I had were part of the Avis credit from the end of April (again, this was the first one offered). I had used part of the credit , but not all of it by any means. Somehow, I must have been wrong about the 60 days. I read that from a post that I had gone back to from the end of April. The credit must have been good for 30 days, as I initially had in mind, instead of 60. I am sorry if I led anyone astray; if it is any comfort, I led myself astray! To add to my frustration, Audible kindly sent me an email a few days ago reminding me to use my credit, but I didn't open the email, thinking that it was an earlier credit that I had already used up!

Of course, I am thankful for the credit that I got for free that I was able to use.

You might want to dig into this a little further. Reading over at Goodreads I see several people who had both the $10 from Buy-4-Get-$10 and the Avis deal complained that they still had some Avis money left but it got wiped out when the end of the month (when the 4-10 money expired) rolled around. If you think this happened to you call Audible's customer support and you'll likely get some love.

Definitely. This same thing happened to me earlier when I had overlapping coupons that should have had different expiration dates; the coupon was reinstated after I called.

I wonder if the Audible people will ever get their act together.

I anticipated this would happen after an earlier experience, so I took the path of least resistance and spent my Avis credit on the 31st.

Happened to me also. I noticed it last night and called Audible. 12 minutes later, they gave me back my $10 Avis credit. of course, the CS rep had no idea why it happened.

So, definitely call Audible. That first Avis credit was good for 60 days from the issue date. It was posted here on 27 Apr.

They seem to be like Steve Martin's "Absent-Minded Waiter."

They keep messing up, but they make it worth your while in the end.

But it's Amazon. How can the Audible component of Amazon be so inept?

See, that's why playing the stock market is never a sure bet! You just never know how these corporate things will work out. We can rejoice in knowing life isn't always predictable!

Its very annoying they are getting calls so they know the credits mistakenly disappeared therefore they should reinstate them for everyone without being prompted. I think I had some left but I'm not sure and its not possible to tell from there account transaction because they don't run a system that shows the credit and debits of you account all they show you is a list of purchases.
