Get reading time statistics of books

Hey all, i`m new here.

Is it possible to extract reading time statistics from the books.db file using SQliteSpy on the sony prs-t1? My device is not rooted.

I can get the reading_time from the books.db, however how do I convert this twelve character string into time format?

Here is a sample reading_time string from a book I have read: 1346485957321

I`ve tried running this, but it gives me giberish
SELECT strftime("%H:%M:%S", reading_time string );

Any ideas? Getting reading statistics would be great. I would like to know the time spent reading each book.

thanks in advance

My memory of the "reading_time" field in the database is the last date/time of when you read that book. It's not a cumulative counter.

Android keeps timestamps in milliseconds since 1/1/1970. For the timestamp you've given, that comes out as Thu Nov 10 09:39:32. Does that sound right?

Cheers,
Simon.

Thanks for the reply Simon, that does sound right. How did you go about converting the timestamp into that format?
So reading_time can't be used to check the time spent reading a book. That's too bad!
Any ideas how one could go about doing that?

There's a couple of ways. An easy one is this website. You'll need to drop the last three digits though - Android uses milliseconds since 1/1/1970 but that website details in seconds.

I'm almost certain that there's no (easy) way to do this...

Cheers,
Simon.

Thanks for the website. I guess the easiest solution would be to root my reader and install moonreader+ or something. I don't want to root my device however, so I'll live without the time spent reading books.
Maybe someone will come along with a solution.
