Case or No case
Paperwhite Owners Eithr Gen do you read with a cover or Naked. I have the actual nice Amazon case, but I took it out to clean it and the weight on the PW is so much better without.

To me, the protection offered by a case is essential. There are some very well-designed, light weight cases available, such as this one: http://www.amazon.com/OMOTON-TM-thin...SSTSASK0WRMKHN

There have been innumerable threads asking this same question. The OP may find it beneficial to read some of the older threads.

IMO, if you're purely using your Kindle at home, a case may be optional. If, however you take it out and about with you, it's necessary. The screen is just too easily damaged.

At home, I use this sleeve, which is located here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This allows me to hold my Kindle naked. When I'm out and about, then I use my case. |

At home I don't use a case, but when I go out I slip my Paperwhite 1 into the slipcase it came with. I've never had any trouble with it. Slipcase

I always have a case on mine in order to protect it from cat paws treading on it and cracking the screen. The type of case I use is:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ULTRA-THIN...item35c2b529a1 I hope the link works. I bought the brown one because it makes the kindle look like an old book. It also has a lovely lion embossed on the bottom right of the front cover. The front cover is very hard and protective. I'm not sure if this particular seller still sells them, but I'm sure you can find them elsewhere. Last edited by BookCat; 05-31-2014 at 02:23 PM. |

Naked. The newer devices are made of thicker plastics compared to the K3, and the screen is a little deeper because of it.

I think these kindles are quite fragile. BTW go to http://www.oberondesign.com for some absolutely gorgeous and pricy leather cases. I love mine. |

I always prefer a case. It helps keeping your ereader like new condition.

When traveling, I typically will take my Kindle Fire HDX, which has the origami cover on it, and that cover seems pretty good, protection-wise. I don't worry too much about dropping it with that on. |

It really is a great - and inexpensive! - sleeve, isn't it? I neglected to say that I also use the sleeve for my Kobo Glo. The glo is a tad shorter than the Kindle, but presents no issues whatsoever. I'll probably end up buying another one, to take care of both readers at the same time. |
