I bought a ton of his collections, too, and was happy to have them and at such inexpensive prices.
These are much better, in my opinion, than those Mobileread Reference collections [no affiliation with Mobileread]. -- Did I get that name right? |

As of this writing, the website now says, "We apologise to our customers. We are updating our website and it will be back as quickly as possible." The site also helpfully adds that it is "down for maintenance."
I'm no website guru, but shouldn't they have left their working website online while they prepare their updated version offline? |

It's not kind of broken. It's broken. No way to login, most of the links aren't there. What kind of a business puts up a website to the public that is as broke as this one is. Once again incompetent.

They've been online-offline off and on in the past few days, and now half the website doesn't work. I don't understand. How hard can it be to dump your database once in a while, zip the code and put that in a safe place? It can be done automatically.
Then again, I have an el-cheapo webhost, costing something like $3 per month, which provides the service of daily backup, and a rollback to an older version of the site and database.... so I actually don't have to do anything. I only use the webhost for e-mail though, at this point. I wonder why Delphi has so much problems getting their site back online after something goes wrong; twice. Somebody there needs to be fired. I work in the website business (designing and implementing backends for applications), and if one of the projects we host and maintain would go offline for two weeks, we'd probably be sued. |

I've got to agree here. They would be better off to keep their "Website Down" message than put up the mess they have now. But I'm not bitter against them, I just figure -- for whatever reason -- they're struggling with this. I'm willing to give them some time to get it straightened out.

Seems like this time it's really back. Currently I'm logged in, but the last books I purchased some days before the site went offline are not listed under MyAccount - Recent Orders. Guess I'll have to write them and ask.

It's still a total and utter mess. The page tells me I'm logged in (on visiting the page, without trying to log in at all), and when I try to log out, I am sent to my log-in screen, and when I then try to log in, my password is refused. And still there's the little thingy showing at the top of the page which I'm supposed to click to log out.
Just remembered: that was the first sign things were going south, months ago. I couldn't properly log out anymore. I even wrote them an email aout that, to which I never got a reply. |

Despite all the bitching I've done recently, I visited the site, logged in successfully and found all the books I've recently purchased available for download.
That said, they are still a bunch of incompetents and I won't be purchasing any further books from Delphi. |

The current book I'm reading is up to 10 typo's at least, while the last Delphi book only had a few (three; maybe even less). |

I can't login and can't recover my password. Fortunately I have copies of my purchases saved somewhere or other.

Just got an email announcing the site is back up - it now sort of works - very slow to load and move between pages.
Took forever to log in - but the site still has my old password & all my purchases. Last edited by poohbear_nc; 06-09-2014 at 03:36 PM. |

Did they mention why the site went down in the first place? I've not received that email as of yet.
