				Editor (1.37 64bit) not responding

When I'm working in the editor since my last update, it takes a lot of time for the editor to respond. It says (not responding), and I have to wait like 5 minutes before my task is completed (e.g. open html file). It's a small book, only 184kb. Anybody else having this problem? The file was in word, and I converted it to epub, using calibre. |

Could it, by any chance, be the spellchecker? My book is in Dutch.

I have this problem, but only after several hours of the editor being open. You can try a different dictionary, if one is available to see if that helps any? Try downloading a different book from the MR library in Dutch and see it has the same behavior. If it is the same, then it is the program, if different, then it looks like the file has issues. |

@JLius I guess it could be the spellchecker/dictionary. However, I use a 7.85MB EN_GB dict with 674K words, the EN-GB dict that calibre ships is 0.68MB with 56K words. Its a tad slower with the big dictionary - eg 4s v 1s to open the spell check list - but no time outs. Many 'not responding problems' are due to program A and program B getting into deadly embrace over some resource or other. One thing to try is to give Calibre an exclusive temporary area - see CALIBRE_TEMP_DIR in http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/cust...ment-variables. On the spell checker issue - try editing an English language book with the default EN-US dictionary, calibre uses the hunspell tools see http://hunspell.sourceforge.net/ Interestingly a couple of Dutch language authorities are major sponsors of the project.
