You have had an interesting life.

My closest brush with the martial arts was a book on Judo I bought from the Magic Shop in Norfolk, Virginia when I was in my early teens. A friend and I would stop by a graveyard on the way home from school and practice the moves we saw in the book. Got pretty good at a couple of them. Enough to make a school bully think twice before messing with me again.

As a teenager, I was really moved by Thoreau's 'Walden,' especially the part where he said something to the effect of; "...I wish to live my life deliberately, to suck the marrow of life so when it came my time to die, I could not say I hadn't lived." If I were to die tomorrow, I'd have no complaints. I've lived lives rich enough for 5 men.

... and I ain't done yet!

Many of my friends and family have tried pressuring me into writing my autobiography but I keep turning down the idea, probably because 95% of the people who don't know me would think it fiction. I lived it, and when I see it written down on paper, even I have trouble believing it!

But now that I'm a grandpa, and realizing that I'll really never get to know my grandkids, I may just take my box of photos and do something for them. Listening to a thunderstorm getting closer.

Ten minutes ago it started to darken and you could hear some vague rumbling in the distance. Then it started to get windy and now it just started raining; big, fat drops. The thunder is still a way off according to the rain radar.

Stitchawl, I think it would be a great idea to put something like that together for the grandkids. I always wondered about my grandparents and their lives, so I know it would be something your family would appreciate.

Umfortunately it was a dud. The rain radar promised very heavy rain and a lot of thunder. We only got a mild shower and so!e rumbling in the distance.

I'm now watching the Grand Designs epispdes I recorded over the couple of months.

I love thunderstorms. LM doe snot like them mianly because it means he cannot go outside and play. He says "Bye Rain" and "Bad rain" whenever one rolls in. Cooper, mutt number 2, comes and finds me and curls up close while shivering whenever it thunders. This includes in the bathroom. Poor pup (he is 4 years old) cannot handle the thunder

There was another thunderstorm during the night, a lot of flashing and some distant rumbling. Lexie didn't mind the lightning last night, she sat on her blanket on the windowsill looking outside. She did make sure every couple of minutes that I was awake, in case of loud thunder (which she doesn't like).

I just pre-ordered Tropico 5, which is going to be released in 2 days and 3,5 hours. I won't be reading much this weekend!

I'm now making a list of things I want to order next week to get Project Life started. I'm hoping PL will force me to get into the habit of making more photographs. I just discovered that my scrapbook store breaks up the big Core Kit sets (with over 600 cards) into five packs, I plan on getting a couple of different ones to mix and match depending on my mood.

BIG day ahead! I've got that huge listing appointment this afternoon, but before that I'm meeting with another client to work on a property of hers that we're thinking of making into a hostel, kayak, bike abd camping equipment rental. A lot of good stuff has been happening in my little town and I think this would be just another star in the crown.

For whatever reason I'm having motivation problems. Probably mainly due to pain issues
