Really, you just need to have a Federal 501(c)(3) certification and get approval from the County authorities. However, the stupid ordinance also specifically prohibits operating any type of animal shelter or rescue within the city limits.

Really .... the people who run this town are such .... great, I'm at a loss for words. Let's just say that the only way they would ever think to treat an animal decently would be if Jesus himself came back and on authority from the Christian God inserted "Thou Shalt Not Cause Pain and Suffering to Any Animal, for They are the Equal to Man in the Eyes of God" as the Eleventh Commandment.

And even then ... they'd still have trouble with the concept.

Must have been. Did you all see the video about that creepy woman who refused to give out any candy to children of Obama supporters?? Her view is that the children have a "choice" about who their parents vote for ... and if those children do not support McCain, then they should not get candy on Halloween.

And ... by the way. Although I registered to vote in Texas almost two months ago, they never sent me my voter's certificate (which you need to vote, apparently). However, the State of California was nice enough to send me a ballot, so I still got to vote in the election (so ... nyah, nyah, nyah, Texas!!) .... AND, I got to vote No on Proposition 8 (which would deny same sex couples the right to marry in California) .... so ... hardee har har on top of the nyah, nyah, nyah.

Funny .... the more soda pop I drink, the more immature I behave. A connection?? I wonder. I should have a glass of wine and mature a bit. Dontcha think???

That sounds like a worthy experiment - you may need to sample several glasses to see if it makes you feel any more mature though

Ha!!

True story .... I went to the doctor last Thursday. The only thing that had changed with my blood chemistry was that my cholesterol was increased (from what used to be my normal of about 125 or so to 207).

So, the doctor says it's probably something in my diet. I had to ask him ... what in soda pop, chocolate and dry cheerios would cause my cholesterol to increase?? He probably thought I was kidding.
