Won't load the pages?
I don't know how to put a proper title to this.
But here's what has been happening. I've experienced this after upgrading to 3.3 the first time, about 2-3 weeks ago. Basically, a book won't open and/or would just get stuck on a page. I have to push the reset button to restart my Glo. It has happened to two books, both epub and sideloaded kepub. I thought it was just a bug, and with the general slowing of my device, I thought it was time for a factory reset. I did it and went back to 3.2. So far, it didn't happen again. A week ago, the update finally pushed through my kobo. Then now, it seems that it's happening again. And now I noticed something else. I remember that it o ly happens when I'm reading a book that o ly has 1 chapter that is 50k+ words long. And it only happens when I put my Glo to sleep while inside the book. So anyway, I marked the book as unread so it would take me to the cover page. After getting to the main chapter of the book, it got stuck again. Another thing I noticed, it seems that my Glo can't "read" the book. Here's the pic. You'll notice it's not loading the number of pages below. It will just say loading. I've tried leaving it alone for 30 mins, but tough luck. Anyway, any of you guys have any idea what's happening here? And maybe a way to fix it? Thanks! |

What type of book? The screenshot suggests this is a kepub. Is it from Kobo or sideloaded? Is it happening with epubs?

Yeah, this book is a converted epub->kepub using the Kobo utility. It also happened to an epub I'm reading. Same book. But the thing that's happening to the epub version is just a white screen. Then I have to turn off/on my Glo, but then I lose my reading position. But with the kepub though, it just wouldn't open and would just be stuck. Like the pic on my first post.

I had the same problem. But it is on 3.2.0 and I did not understand exactly what does it crash occurs. But this is exactly happening with the format kepub. And then I found out that the patch "Decrease footer example" the cause - when I cleaned this patch, the error was never repeated. But, fortunately, currently upgrading to 3.3.0, this problem is gone, although the same patch "Decrease footer example" I use.

If you do not use this patch "Decrease footer example", it means that the cause of your problems in another.
Maybe your problem is within these files of books? I mean that EPUB format feature is that its member text (XHTML) files should not exceed the size of 260 KB). No, I didn't |

I have seen a couple of problems like this with 3.3.0.
Firstly, I usually read epubs. I haven't read enough kepubs lately to see problems. For both problems, a book was opened and I put the Glo down and it went to sleep automatically. I don't use a cover. When I picked up the Glo, I flicked the power switch and it seemed to wake and displayed the page I was reading. The two things I have seen are after waking the Glo from sleep. The most common problem is that when I tap to turn to the next page, the books get closed, marked as finished and the home page displayed. Opening the book again, opens it to the page I was at. This has happened a few times, but not every time it sleeps when a book is opened. I don't think the size of the book or the number of chapters affects it. The other is a complete hang that needs to a pinhole reset to recover. I think this only happens after the overnight sleep. Because of that, I have been blaming this on the automatic sync. This has happened a lot less often than the above. |

The thing is, I have this fixation on kepubs, even if the files are generally bigger. I guess I just have to live with epubs now. At least with epubs, the book doesn't get completely stuck. It's just that all 300 some books in my library has already been converted... |
