I don't understand what's the problem of just releasing source to an extend that all H/w becomes accessible through the kernel, anyway. It would be a great advantage, encourage a FOSS community and come with virtually no risk of any disadvantage, whatsoever. I don't even care for the source of Onyx software, which I find is mostly garbage, but a decent FOSS Linux based kernel and H/W support...

Actually I think this is but a sideeffects of ignorance. People who haven't got the slightest clue how the software world works being in positions to make such decisions. I'd be delighted to be proven wrong...

Well based on the info found online it will have touchscreen and the video below (thanks Charbax!) shows that it responds to touch:

So it looks like it's both finger and stylus compatible.

As for the speed of Android of M96 - we'll have to just wait and see. In the above video T68 seems pretty responsive to me so I wouldn't expect less from M96. The possibility for e-ink optimized apps was mentioned as well.

For me M96 is still looking good

Seems to be a communication problem. The onyx rep says that the device is capacitive, but in the catalog at 2.13 it is written that touch is Digitizer with stylus. Also the device is being operated by keys and joystick only;If you look closely Charbax tries to operate it with hand but nothing happens - icon selection is done by joystick even though it seems that it happens due to hand touch [it is confusing actually - sometimes it looks like device does respond to hand touch ?]

There are thousands of musicians waiting for 13inch (A4) ereader. Light, non glass, like flexible eInk Mobius display (which can not be broken by little flexures, hit or music stand fall).
Bluetooth for wireless page turning is must. Stylus/digitizer is a bonus but not necessary.
Sony DPT-S1 is missing bluetooth but mainly is NOT available for public.

Yep , i just tried to buy it and kind of failed , they said i have to give them my information and then they give sony these information and then they decide if i can get 1 , and if they do decide ( wtf ) i have also pay 120 $ extra to worldox fro their services which i dont need ! ( is this a scam? lol )

WOW! That's really weird :S
Sony is being paradoxical and really not very smart.
If they want to create some kind of network just for schools and enterprises, they should have created it by now. Since almost a year that they're are working on this (!). And nothing seems to be really clear. Besides, not every school/enterprise can adopt the kind of network they want to offer, so why don't they sell the device through some store to everyone, while still offering the service to the schools/enterprises that want the file sharing network?
It seems that everyone has been waiting for something like this but their minds are the only ones that can't understand it...

P.S.: Sorry for the off-topic.

Edit: I also noticed that Charbax (in the T68/M96 video) asked about front-light and the lady sad it "was not a standard". What does she mean? That people/resellers can ask/require front-light when they buy it?

Well, ereader-store.de claimed that the device should be available around now -- when I pressed recently for more information, I didn't hear back. And onyx-book.com said that availability would begin in June.

Hi,

the first batch of M96 shall be delivered within of the next week. Onyx prepares it for shipping now. Actually, it could be delivered earlier, but we decided to wait for T68 batch too. Now because of some reasons (optimisation of manufacturing tool) the delivery of T68 has been postponed to around 14 June. So we decided to ship the M96 batch earlier.
