Thanks to the people who post in this thread. This program does not seem to have been promoted very well by Amazon. I actually saw a special offer on my Kindle last month mentioning it, but that's the first I've seen outside of this thread and a friend who is a long time Kindle owner (and Prime member) had never heard of it.

I'm not sure I've ever gotten one. I've been a Prime member for about 4-5 years, but have only owned a Kindle for about a year.

I get them, and never did anything special to start receiving them. The subject of them is like this, for May: "Your Name: May Kindle First Books". And the from address was store_news@amazon.com. Maybe check to see if they got spam filtered?

Two months in and I still haven't found a single book I liked. I'm having much better luck with the "free e-book every month" offered by University of Chicago Press. There are also the 700 free titles offered by University of California Press (though you'll need hit the Print View button on the U. of C. site and either convert the page from HTML or use a plugin like GrabMyBooks). I didn't get any of them. I can't imagine I'd read any so I don't see the point this month.
