Yes, By Its Cover is sold for RS. 1.51
and Dan Brown's Inferno is RS. 1.68.
There are also some preorder books with similar price, e.g. Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter's The Long Mars and Donna Leon's Gondola

Did you find the pricing only on crime/mystery or across the board?

I am not above deep discounts.

That said, I tried travelling to a couple of countries with no significant price change. Heading off to India now.

That's odd, Donna Leon and Dan Brown for small price... yes. But The rise of superman is RS 260. Not that I'm interested in any of these, just curious...

Woo hoo, first time visitor to India and it worked!
To change country, go to your account, payment information, and change country right at the top. I left the rest of my address as is, and it was no problem.

Was worried how my bank would react to a .15-ish cents charge, so also picked up a couple of cheaper editions from my wishlist for $8 because I thought a larger charge would look normal. Turns out I had to go back through my bank anyway, for something called Verified by Visa. Got that taken care of (one more new password...) and it worked fine. Still curious what will happen when the individual pre-orders go through for just a few cents at a time, couldn't find a way to add them to the basket, but I guess worst case they just get rejected...

Oh, and BTW, the new Joanna Trollope, Balancing Act, is RS 1.59
And for any US newbies, rough conversion to use while browsing (today)is 600RS = $10USD

Thanks everybody, for the great information/inspiration.

Thank you. That is a much better explanation than Dr. Drib's, since the article has everything to do with this thread, dedicated to Kobo discounts. I will delete my post now.

I had that problem with 90% off discounts. My bank let the charges through, but called me. I told the customer service about the site. She laughed and asked for specifics.

Eh...after all that they *still* emailed a security alert, but I guess I should be glad they're monitoring. In any case, the books are downloaded so they're not goin' back.
