Kobo Aura Library navigation help

Hi, I'm a new Aura owner so forgive me if I'm asking a really basic question. I've added quite a bit of manga on the device, but I'm finding the Library a bit cumbersome to navigate because of it (I've got about 50 pages).

Is the only way to reach a specific letter of the alphabet in your Library to use the search function and search for the first letter?

Like, if I have books in the same series that begin with "Y" and I want to get to it without swiping to the end of the Library, I need to search for "Y" on the home screen? There isn't a way to just set the Library to display only titles that begin with "Y"? Or am I missing something really obvious that's right in front of it?

Thank you.

Shelves / Collections might help here. Maybe put each related manga series on it's own shelf?

Is the only way to manage shelves to do it through Calibre (via that thread that is stickied)? I found that having folders on the device itself doesn't really help with sorting in the Library, and trying to create collections on the device can be a bit of a laborious process.

Calibre is the only automatic way to create and manage the shelves.

To navigate through the library, you can also tap the "Page x of y" in the top right corner. This will prompt you for a page number.

And as you are a new Kobo user, have a look this for some UI conventions.

Ahh, that helps some until I can get the shelves set up. Cheers!

This won't help with middle of the alphabet letters, but you can go BACKWARDS from the 1st page to the last page with a right swipe.

I didn't even think to swipe backwards from the first page. That helps too!

Alas, it doesn't manage any shelves in my Aura.

I stupidly even removed the shelves I created manually because I thought the device must be clear of any to have Calibre do the trick, but that only left me with 500 books to add to manually created shelves three hours and countless tries later.

I've checked the plugin to make sure it sends the information when updating metadata over and over again.

What have I missed?

P.S. The plugin is great btw

What have I missed?

Maybe the Sticky thread "Quick Guide to Shelf Management with calibre 0.9.1 & above"?

Suddenly after having had a look at that adding 500 books manually doesn't sound tiresome at all.
