Was the string in the config file there after you updated it, or did you have to put it in? I own a Glo and after sideloading the update, it wasn't there.

Obviously I was thinking something else. You are correct, I hadn't tapped the navigation icon. I only have one book that I use the navigation for and I go straight to the table of contents link. Don't think it ever clicked that the page numbers were listed there as well. Thank you.

Just tried the full screen again and initial the text was ok along the right hand side, I read half a dozen pages with no issue.

However I discovered: 1) if I change the font size all the text move about 3 mm to the right cutting off the last character on each line. 2) if I change the justification to off or to left the the last character is unaffected, it's only when using left and right justification that give the problem. Removing GeoffR's wonderful patches from the Aura has fixed the problem. Sorry I didn't note which of the patches I had enabled. I've re-installed the following patches (they are a must have) and everything is ok so far ![]() Quote:

![]() Forget the above, now removed the patch and still have the problem this time

I have newly virgin(sounds like a Hollywood plastic surgery consultation) firmware 3.3.0 and no problem with cut off characters with the header/footer on or off. But, I'm reading side loaded epubs, haven't tried a kepub, so that may be the key(pub). Perhaps the bug is related to kepubs, or renamed epubs-as-kepubs and the kepub renderer? At any rate, it's nice to have the option of FULL page. Personally, I prefer the page number footers and alternating title/chapter headers, but may change my mind if I give it a decent trial. I wouldn't mind seeing an option where they extract book title and chapter info from the metadata and epub text and alternated them as header on each new screen with page number footers and automagically ignored the ones some idiots have hardcoded into some of my files and now end up in the middle of pages... Grr. Yeah, yeah, REGEX this... We need more AUTOMAGICAL processing. ;-) Do what I want, NOT what I tell you! |

I was able to do it! I used Notepad++ and it basically took care of itself...

I did get that cut off thingy though. But I ticked on, off, or, then off again that header/footer option, changed the margin, then reverted the margin again, then the cut off got corrected... It might be that doing o ly one of the things above fixed it, but I did them all and now I'm a happy camper... |

I recently sideloaded 3.3 on both the aura HD and the plain aura, and added again the two-fingers improvement on the HD (after dutifully uninstalling it before upgrading the version).

And yesterday, for the first time, I had a new behaviour on both (I use the plain aura outside): when I try to change lighting level a round magnifying glass appears in the middle of the page, then the whole book goes to maximum font size. True, I have diverging fingers (arthritis), but I never saw that in preceding versions (I skipped 3.2). A minor difference: I think the font changed for book information - everything in a sanserif font and a decent size. There used to be books with very small characters, while readable on calibre. Anybody else noticed those modifications? Or others? |

This is the reason why I liked the header/footer...

Update: it seems that the browser issue is also happening with zoomed in images. At least on cbr files. Last edited by hleo12; 04-29-2014 at 05:27 AM. |

![]() I've played a bit more with this full screen thing. Some of my books have the cut off some don't. All are kepub.epub so I've reloaded a troublesome book as plain epub and that appeared to fix the problem -- no cut off. Could this issue be confined to kepub.epub? |

Does this mean that now epubs show header & footer too with the full screen hack enabled?

On a separate note, I'd really like some sort of page number even on full screen mode. And I would really like for kobo to bring back the statistics for sideloaded kepubs. |
