They are in the third or fourth post of the firmware download thread. And once the firmware is installed, the device can't tell the difference, so you will be offered future updates.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna try it tomorrow. And hope for the best, and also, a follow up question, is making a database backup using calibre enough to make sure I can restore it in case something goes wrong?

Yah loving this new option as well. Two improvements that I suggest are to give the text a bit more of a margin at the top. Right now it bumps up against the top bezel which doesn't bother me but it might others. Notice I said a bit. Best yet would be to be able to specify the top and bottom margins like the left and right. The other improvement would be when full page is selected then move the page #/# to come up on the bar when you centre tap. It is nice to be able to check once in awhile.

The chapter name and page number are shown at the bottom of the navigation <--> menu, and if you leave that menu active, it is just one tap to check the page number while reading.

A separate slider for top/bottom margins would be ideal, but it is quite easy to automatically set a fixed top margin when transfering the book with Calibre, and another possibility is a patch being tested that makes the margin slider change the bottom and/or top margins together with the left/right margins.

It depends on what goes wrong.

If something goes wrong during an upgrade, you will probably need to do a factory reset. That will wipe the user partition and you will need to put the books back on as well. If something happens to cause the database to be corrupted, then restoring the last database backup is usually enough.

I use the utilities plugin to store the reading status. Then if I do a factory reset, I send the unread or in progress books and then restore the reading status.

Ahh sorry I didn't even think of saying that the suggestions were for epub viewing. When you centre tap reading an epub there is no chapter or page number showing up in the navigation bar.

Yes, there is - as long as you've previously tapped the Navigation icon, it will remember to show the Navigation pop-up again next time you centre-tap the page.

I can't seem to make that full screen work... Is there like a dumbed down version of some instructions on how to add it to the config file?

Have you gone back to the reading settings page after adding it and unchecked the "Show header and footer:" checkbox?

Use notepad++ to edit the file and add the two relevant lines exactly as shown, upper/lower case seems to be very important.

When done you can open the file in Firefox or another browser and verify the file was saved properly after editing. You need to make sure the lines are added as shown and do not run-into other lines. Some editors do not provide the proper line terminating characters to the file, use notepad++ if in doubt. I used the editor in Root Explorer and did the edit with the Kobo Glo plugged into an Android tablet.

Thanks. I'll try it again. I just used regular ol' notepad to edit it. I checked and it was saved, but it still didn't show in reading settings.

Most are reporting that cut offed character. One thing I like is for an ebook to look like a book. That's why I hate converting pdf to epub specially if there's a text reflow issue... Anyway, can someone post a pic or screenshot on how the cut off looks? It's one of those things that really annoys me...

Actually, after you turn off the full screen option and fiddle with the margin slider a bit things go back to normal and stay normal unless you select full screen again. That's why I didn't bother deleting the strings in the config file.

yup, my pics show that too, but I have several non sideloaded kepubs that present the same issue.
