Our Taj MaHen is quite the chicken palace, and mucking out is just one of those jobs that needs to be done. We use a deep layer (3-6 inches) of shavings, so it only needs to be done twice a year. And then I hire a local handyman to help, since it's one of those jobs that takes two people an hour or so, or one person 4 hours plus. Plus taking last year's shavings (which are now rich compost) and putting them on the raised beds. Where the chickens promptly worked them in to the soil for me. Looking forward to this evening's Talisker Storm. But right now, Peet's Major Dickason's |

♫♫♫ The minstrel of the dawn is here To make you laugh and bend your ear Up the steps you?ll hear him climb All full of thoughts, all full of rhymes Listen to the pictures flow Across the room into your mind they go Listen to the strings They jangle and dangle While the old guitar rings The minstrel of the dawn is he Not too wise but oh so free He'll talk of life out on the street He'll play it sad and say it sweet ♫♫♫ ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKMx4xA35aw ) Good morning, everyone! Saturday again, so up early for my walk before going off to war... or fencing, as the case may be. Just five more weeks before the big tournament in Bangkok, so today we're going to plan out some mid-week fencing practices to whip us into a better condition. It's going to be some tough competition, with fencers coming from all over the world to fight. Well, this morning I'm drinking my newest Ceylon tea from Heladiv... remarkable that such a good tasting brew can sell for such a low price! Makes me wonder about how the prices are fixed to begin with. I think I paid about $5-$6 for half a pound of tea! It's a full bodied, rich tasting tea that stands on its own without milk or sugar (thank God!) and it's a tea that I could, if I so chose, drink every day! However, I do not so choose... Variety is the spice, etc., etc. So now it's down to the Food Lady for a pick from her variety, and the Fruit Lady too. Lately she's been selling peeled and sliced mangos, 3 for 10 baht (about 25¢) Makes for a tasty dessert! Stitchawl |

Black Coffee - as I get ready. Then heading to church to be ordained as an Southern Baptist pastor. Never ever would have predicted this day had you asked me even a decade a go.

Peet's Major Dickason's coffee. But I just sucked down the last of the mug, so need to go make some tea. I think a bit of Murchie's Russian Caravan this morning. It's a grey day and I think the Lapsang Souchong in it will help.

No, not today so far, KK. Though I see occasional bits of blue sky to the northwest, so there's hope. However, my intent to have Murchie's Russian Caravan was foiled by an apparently error in ordering. I'm out, and apparently never ordered more. Sigh. So, I'll have Peet's Russian Caravan, but it's not nearly as smoky. Still, a good tea for a grey day. |
