I just finished Edit Layton's His Dark and Dangerous Ways. I took advantage of the 3 month free trial of Scribd from the thread here in the deals forum. They have alot of Harpercollins books just like Overdrive but no lines! So now I am reading books that I wish Overdrive had bought I do think they have Lisa Kleypas I may have to look into those.

I bought two books last week.

I read:

His Dark And Dangerous Ways by Edith Layton (3.5) Very slow moving but it has a charm to it. I wouldn't call it humorous or suspenseful just a nice regency read to past the time.

I am reading Out of Control by Suzanne Brockman.

In case you haven't looked there is a thread here in the deals forum that gives a link to get 3 months trial subscription to Scribd. I signed up and I am loving it. They have Harpercollins, Sourcebooks, Diversion and Zebra Romances and alot of Smashwords books too. The Edith Layton book was from Scribd. It is app based reading so you need a android or iOS device. You can download the book to your device and read offline. The app reader reminds me alot of the Kindle app. I really love the Sans-Serif font it uses but yet to figure out it's name. I see me keeping Scribd. You need a credit card or Paypal account to subscribe but they do not charged anything till the trial is up and of course you can cancel before them. It's Free quality books to read for 3 months!!!

We continue to pack and get ready for NC. This place looks like a warehouse! All my books are packed and I wont tell you how many boxes it took! I am still stuck on level 70 of Candy Crush I think it might be the end of the game for me.

Scribd is certainly better than libraries.overdrive. I downloaded 50 books to two different devices. That beats the 6 book limit at the library. And the books are way better than most of the offerings for the 1 free book a month at Amazon. I am undecided if I'll keep it. If they add some features like full justification, then I will be more inclined.

The syncing feature is fast and accurate (superior to the kindle app). The app itself is faster and more responsive than the kindle app, which I hate. I would like a thicker font.

It's like a candy store for book lovers.

Yes it is! It's Netflix for books! I just added some books to read. I swear I know that font but I can't figure it out but I am sure I have seen it before somewhere!

Edit: I found it!!! Scala Sans is the font. Woot!!

Thanks for mentioning the scribd deal, Blossom. I often spend more than $8.99 a week on books also so this is a great deal. Although most of the books I can get via Overdrive, it seems like there are some indie-pubbed books there as well that they'd never get in my library.
Let me have a little pity party and tell you that I was moved out of an office space that I had all to myself with a window last week, into a corner of another office. It's still a much nicer space that a lot of people have but the change sucks. My computer ergonomics are all wrong too so I need to get that fixed asap.
