I can't say I've found any problem with contrast on the AuraHD. Doesn't increasing the font weight on the Advanced font menu darken the text to Kindle levels? (Honest question I've never owned a Kindle).

Absolutely love my Aura HD. For me, it's the perfect e-reader. Does everything I want (which, admittedly, isn't all that much. I've never even messed around with the advanced font controls.) The combination of the hi-def screen & that lighting system = complete win for me.

Enough! Enough! I've ordered one as a replacement to my recently deceased (via hardware oops) Glo. Your work here is done.

In my opinion, it doesn't make the fonts darker [improve the contrast], but rather makes them 'fatter', which gives an 'impression' of better contrast. Combine that with the higher DPI, and you get something that is unsurpassed regarding font clarity.

The clarity of the screen on the Kobo Aura HD is unsurpassed, in my opinion.

The contrast, however, on the Kindle Paperwhite 2 is rich and saturated.

Combine these two (along with that nice, larger screen), and the money will flow in to some company. Maybe that's the next step...

My case arrived, which is a very nice case considering the price of $13-$14 I paid to Amazon.

Good protection and nice to hold. Quite adequate for the price.

I'll pitch in and add my two bits. The Aura HD is indeed the most beautiful e-Ink screen I have ever seen. Compared to my Sony (not fair really, since it's an older generation model), compared to the PW2 (both instore and at home with a friend) and the nook (again a friend).

And of course, the bigger size, fewer page-turns, etc. really make it feel like you're reading a p-book. It is the first e-Reader which in my opinion can actually replace physical books (well, mostly anyway, I don't think I'll ever get rid of paper altogether :P)

What color Aura HD did you pair the cover with?

The Aura HD is black. I've actually been using it without the cover, though. It's easier to hold. I stretch a black hair band diagonally over the back to slide a couple fingers in, and it is very comfortable.

What color Aura HD did you get?

I got a case from the same seller for my Aura, and it is red. Love it! No complaints. But his cases for the Glo have magnets that are too strong.
