Welcome to another week of waiting until Sync begins and we all drown in free audiobooks. In the meantime, I'll try and keep you all entertained with some different freebie opportunities (some better than others) that I've sniffed out. This week (a day early because I'll be driving all day tomorrow) is a new set of audiobooks from our friends over at Random House audio. If anyone is interested in the procedure: you have to subscribe to their newsletter and you can either download or stream the book. I went for the Darwin Elevator and it is downloading to my computer right now as one big mp3 file. (How is it that I can't seem to reduce my pile of unread audiobooks these days?!)

Credit must be used by 5/1/14, so don't get any bright ideas about combining this with your upcoming Buy-4-Get-$10 credit, though you might use it to help you get over the top, so to speak.

Skinmaan, I should have checked here first, sorry for the duplicate! I just posted a separate thread about the $5! I was excited at the find & wanted to get the word out before it ends. But maybe someone who doesn't normally check out this thread will benefit.

Nothing wrong with posting a separate thread for specific offers

The reason I started this thread was to consolidate ongoing audiobook offers in one place (opening post) for easy reference. In no way was it meant to force all offers in this thread only. So if you think an offer deserves a separate thread, by all means start one and I'll link it in the OP of this thread.

Greetings, and I hope you all got your Easter surprise from Audible. Here we are at another Monday, another week past until Sync begins and we all drown in audiobooks. In the meantime, I'll try and pass along a few appetizers until the main course arrives.

Graphic Audio has a couple of new freebies. "Originally Human" and "This Cleansing Fire" are still available. In addition, they now have "Peacer: Unmasked" by Dave Swavely. This is sort of near-future crime thriller. Finally, "Great American Westerns: The Last Ride" by Robert E. Howard is also free; the title is pretty self-explanatory.

From Audible, we have a new 1st episode of a serialized story. This one is called "Yesterday's Gone" by Sean Platt and David Wright. It bills itself as a "Post-Apocalyptic Serial Thriller" so if you're into that sort of thing you might pick it up and see if the rest of the series is for you.

Well, I think that's enough for today. I hope everyone is enjoying our countdown. Not long to go now.

Sync is a program to offer free audiobooks geared toward the YA market over the course of the summer. They offer two titles a week for 13 weeks. You need the overdrive console (free to download), an email address, but otherwise it is no strings attached. Everyone here gets pretty excited about it they offer some fairly current YA titles and popular classics.

Today's Daily Deal on Audible is Call the Midwife, by Jennifer Worth. Read by Nicola Barber. This is the first of the books on which the wildly popular BBC series is based, and it is a compelling, if sometimes shocking, story of the life of a young midwife working for the NHS in one of the worst areas of post-war London. At $3.95? GRAB IT! (Oh, and if you haven't seen the TV series, or avoided it because you couldn't imagine liking it, set your TiVo wishlist to record it! You won't regret it.)

Downpour's deal of the week is Winter's Tale, at $4.95.

I didn't read this when I borrowed it from my local library a month or two ago, because the print was so tiny, so this is a real deal for me.
