Problem loading books

I've never had a problem but now Calibre won't recognise books in ADE.
I downloaded four epubs from my local library into ADE and tried to load them into Calibre but it can't "see" them in ADE.
Has anyone else had this problem, do I have to reinstall the plug ins maybe.
Any advice appreciated

DRM removal is not supported for library loans; the DRM is (for once) a good thing, to make the loan expire.

If you are sure that you have correctly downloaded the books to ADE (can you see/read them in ADE?), my guess is that your ADE folder in which the book files reside has changed...did you update ADE? Find the folder that the files are downloading to now and point Calibre to that folder when you are adding.

(The ability to upload the book files to Calibre is independent of DRM. What the OP does with regards to DRM in books from a library is a different discussion.)

The storage path is hardcoded, isnt it? Did ADE3.0 change that location???

Re question 2 I do it this way just so i can read library epubs on the Kindle
I don't and will not distribute, just read what is available.

Back to my problem, I find the Adobe Digital Editions directory OK with Calibre but Calibre doesn't find the books no matter what file type I select, if I select all files it finds the digitaleditions.exe file and Calibre will load the books from that file all together, but it will no longer see books in the Adobe digital Editions directory.
This has worked so well in the past, without a problem until now.
Can anyone help.

I do this also, but people have differing viewpoints and as it was not relevant to your problem I skipped the issue so as to avoid a firestorm.

About your problem...first things first-> what versions of ADE and Calibre are you using? And have you updated either recently? Also, can you read the books in ADE (as in are the books being loaded into ADE appropriately)?

I just got back to my computer that I use Calibre on and checked. If you are finding a digitaleditions.exe file, you are looking in the wrong folder. You should be navigating to 'My Digital Editions' folder to find your books if you are using windows. (I don't know about a Mac).

Thank you so much people this is so embarrasing. Lately I've converted a few PDF's and had forgotten where the epub downloads were, my silly mistake. but all good now.
