Hey all, Reading about moving many times, I had to tell you about my favorite aunt who is 91 years old. She is living in her 37th house! My late uncle was a General in the Air Force. They lived all over the world including Morocco in the early 1960's. (The home movies from there are amazing!) Back in the 1940's and 1950's, they often moved more than once in a year. Two of my four cousins attended 4 high schools. I know the military moved and packed them, but my aunt can move into a house and have it all unpacked, decorated, and organized in 2 weeks! I've seen it many times. Somehow that organization gene skipped me.... Happy Reading! Joan

Not going to happen. I've done that in the past we were in the military and it's the one thing I regret getting rid of the most. He can get rid of his outdated Britannica's first which take up more room then my paperbacks ever have!

We use to work in Charlotte when we lived in Boone. I think it's a bit too far from the in laws and they are helping us with paying for the move.

Yep! I've been there. Orders come down and you got 2 days usually to box it all up and get to the your next PCS. Luckily it only happen 3 times when my hubby was in the Air Force. When they civilianized his job, we had the choice to get out or for him to retrain. The retrain was not really an option due to my health at the time so we got out. He's always regretted that.

Those moving companies are a joke. They are always break stuff and overcharge. I don't miss that part.

Three or four times they came in and actually packed the trash Thankfully not the kitchen's trash, but the trashcan in my bedroom once and the bathroom trash a few times. Nothing like opening boxes and finding that

OMG!!! Eeeewww!!! After my first experience with them. I pretty much packed everything myself. They weren't too happy about it but I just said I never unpacked and shrugged.

It was once a week we had to go down to their to pick up supplies. They faxed us the work orders. Good memories through. I loved living in Boone.

Has anybody bought and read 'The Will' by Kristen Ashley yet? A couple of the people I follow on GR are absolutely raving and gushing about it.
I'm thinking of making that my reward to myself if I can make myself finish cleaning my freebies.

The ARe series showcase freebie for today (4/10-4/11) is The Nerd Who Loved Me by Vicki Lewis Thompson, book two in the Nerd Series.
Quote:
NOTE: This is a previously published work. The title, author, and/or publisher may have changed.

Shy accountant Harry Ambrewster never dreams his crush on Vegas showgirl Lainie Terrell will amount to anything. But then he agrees to babysit for her precocious four-year-old son Dexter and her drunk ex-boyfriend shows up demanding to see his kid. Escaping out a second-story window with Dexter isn’t Harry’s style, but Lainie and her son need a hero, and Harry isn’t about to let them down . . .

Alarmed by her volatile ex’s sudden interest in Dexter, Lainie’s desperate to keep her son from harm. Harry offers his mother’s security-enhanced home as a safe haven for Dexter while he and Lainie attempt to mislead her ex by posing as a husband and wife checking out a Sedona timeshare. What starts out as a platonic arrangement quickly morphs into red-hot passion, but can either of them trust emotions created in a powder keg?

I am slowly collecting these! Book one was a previous freebie.

Question every time I log into ARE now I get this popup asking me about being a Kindle Reader how do I stop that? If I close it it take me out of the checkout and I have to start it again. I prefer epub to download.

I have the series. I bought it as they came out. She has been auto buy for me back when she wrote westerns. The box set is cheaper than buying 2 & 3. It's $5.99 while each book is $4.99

Good morning all! For the first time in 6 years I went to bed before 10pm last night. I just woke up to do my Swagbucks. As you know hubby use to work second shift so I would go to bed at 8AM and get up at 1PM now I got to somehow put my night owl days behind me. Soooo if you see me here on odd times (odd times for me) you know why.

I was getting that for days on my phone & tablet. I just answered no and continued on through the checkout then downloaded ePub's. I've used Chrome on my laptop for the last two and haven't gotten the pop-up. Not sure if it's the browser or because I run AdBlock & Ghostery or what.

Today's Anne Stuart backlist title is on sale for $0.99 at Amazon (this one is not in Kobo).

A Rose a Midnight (previously published by Avon 1993)

Quote:
A seminal romance, finally available again. Ghislaine de Lorgny wants just one thing in this life -- revenge on the man who destroyed her life. Nicholas Blackthorne wants two things -- to keep Ghislaine from killing him and getting her into his bed. Kidnapping her and taking her, kicking and screaming, across half of Europe is only the beginning to their adventures. Nicholas has a black heart and a remorseless soul, Ghislaine has fierce determination and a score to settle. If only she wasn't falling in love with her kidnapper.
