Shortage of Paperwhite 2 3G model in UK

Does anyone know why there is a shortage of the Kindle Paperwhite 2 3G model here in the UK. The WIFI model seems to be in plentiful supply ex stock. I am currently thinking of an upgrade from a PW1 WIFI model and the 3G route is one possibility. IS 3G used for anything other than buying books or re downloading purchases. Is it used for word lookups etc. I don't often buy books away from home, but if I did need the occasional book I usually have an iPhone with me that can access the store.

3G can be used for:

- Buying books.
- Looking things up in Wikipedia.
- Language translations.

I think that's pretty much it.

Personally, given the fact that I have a Smartphone with internet access, I don't think the premium for the 3G model is worth paying, but if you don't have a Smartphone yourself, then obviously for you it may be.

Thank's Harry. I will save the £60+ and get the wifi version. I have an iPhone with tethering as well as an iPad Air with the same so no real advantage on the 3G Kindle except for convenience.

That's exactly my view, too. Save your £60 - you can buy a lot of books with that!
