That's a generous thought. But the NASB (New American Standard Bible) is not the same translation as the Catholic NAB (New American Bible).

The NASB is widely available, whereas the NAB translation is still in copyright.

If anyone needs one for the EB-1150, the King James Bible from eBookwise is nice. It links to the books of the Bible, but then you have to scan through to the chapter and verse. Sounds time consuming, but only takes a few seconds. It's broken into two books, Old Testament and New Testament, total cost around $5.

The NASB is not the same as the NAB and both are currently under copyright. They are typically only available from sites and software that pay for the rights. To give one away is illegal.

It is not copyrighted. Whether you can copy it depends on the license terms you used to buy it. MobileRead does not enforce license terms so it depends on you.

The King james Bible is out of copyright everywhere except the UK, where there is a perpetual Crown copyright.

Thanks for the generous offer, but as others have pointed out the NASB and the NAB are different translations. I'm specifically looking for either the NAB or the Catholic study bible. I also wouldn't feel right "pirating" a copy of the Bible, that just seems wrong... Thankfully I have a good job and can legally feed all my habits

Is there a way to extract the text out of the olive tree version as a straight PRC, PDB, or other format? I already use both stanza and eReader heavily on my iPhone and I really don't want a special-purpose one-off reader for text, I'd rather have everything in one place.

It's a guy who by himself hosts a mini-bittorrent tracker site, doing mainly christian and religious audiobooks,and a few video's.

It would be nice to get a massive torrent with all free christian books in one, that you no longer need to browse hundreds of pages, but can download all in one for the reader.
How about that?

The guy probably doesn't know much about ebooks and e-readers (or e-ink devices) yet, but it's a part of multimedia that could both enrich his site, as well as be beneficial to the christian community.
I already left a message about the gutenberg site.

Unfortunately, it is copyrighted! I have it in .html ebook format that could easily be converted to .prc/.pdf, but without permission, I'm afraid all I can do is offer guidance (the reason for the sample images).

I was going to ask for formal permission to re-distribute it, once I got it working on the EBW1150 (as I viewed this as a natural fit). I got stalled on that front, as previously mentioned in an earlier post in this thread.

I did "create" the ebook from what was online, but added my own tailored indexing/TOC.

It pains me to not be able to release it, since a lot of effort had gone into trying to make it available in ebook form.

That specific version probably is in copyright, under a "compilation copyright" that covers the work they did to create the ebook version.

There are plenty of KJV texts floating around, as the text is in the public domain, if anyone cares to create an EB1150 version.

There are others. Bit Torrent is simply a protocol, applicable to any sort of file sharing. The fact that "torrent" seems to have become a synonym for "pirated copy" is unfortunate.
